SFA ****ebags.. no further action to be taken regarding Paul McBrides comments on their disciplinary process with McCoist , Bougherra and Diouf ; no ****ing surprises there ; Werent they going to sue him At least Regan seems to have the sense to avoid getting into a fight he cant win.
The Scottish Football Association have withdrawn the threat of legal action against Paul McBride QC after the lawyer expressed regret over the offence caused by his criticism of the organisation. Looks like McBride shat it to me.
Nope , he asked the questions that required a denial from them ; no denial forthcoming ; McBride chose his words carefully enough ; he apologised that his criticism caused the organisation offence ; no withdrawal of the criticism.
So they withdrew their threat of legal action after that? He didn't actually say that what he said originally was wrong. All he said was that he regretted that it may have offended some people. The SFA shat it. McBride (and Celtic) 4 - SFA 0
If you read the statement the SFA released regarding McBride they ****ed themselves up. They accused him directly of something, so they left themselves open to a legal case. "Whilst anyone is entitled to criticise the Scottish Football Association, we cannot allow our integrity to be challenged. Now that this issue is behind us, we can concentrate on the internal and constitutional reforms which will benefit Scottish football going forward." Paul McBride QC: "In the course of an interview given to BBC Scotland on 12 April 2011, I made a number of remarks which followed the decision made at the disciplinary hearing involving Rangers FC players and their assistant manager. "Following discussions with the Scottish Football Association, I recognise that offence has been taken to my remarks by the Scottish Football Association as an organisation, its council and its staff, and for that I express regret. "I have a lot of respect for many individuals within the Scottish FA, not least Stewart Regan. Under his leadership, I anticipate many reforms which will be welcomed across Scotland."
