A lighter point to make. Am I the only one who gets pissed off at fans who: a) Get to the game late b) Leave to get a coffee at 40 mins c) return for 2nd half late d) Leave after 85 mins Its the same people every week
In fairness, a lot of fans have to run for the train. Leaving 3 minutes early saves about 10 minutes in time taken to get to the station.
I think ILD posted a smilar thread a few months ago. I agree with you, but I'm slightly guilty of 'B' in that I leave around 43 mins to get to the loo. I do however stay until the final whistle goes.
When I used to have my season ticket (lower Barclay, CV72 ) it was deliberately chosen to be next to an exit gangway, to minimize disruption from said 'serial offenders'. Christ, those were the days, I actually had a choice in where to sit On a different note, for the Villa game I'll be in the upper River End, but the tickets say 'restricted view' ? I don't undertstand this, as when the N&P was built, it avoided supporting stanchions etc. Or are we playing at Selhurst Park tomorrow?
I don't get too annoyed with late arrivals as anyone can get held up. However I do get annoyed by people leaving early - why pay for a ticket and then leave before the game ends? If I ever did it I know that somebody would score a blinder for us and I would be kicking myself all the way home.
people can come and go as they please but what i hate is that before the following game, if these people missed something important the game before, they moan about it. why the hell are you moaning to us about what you missed?! don't start blabbering on about how you 'can't believe we missed another goal at the death - its so annoying' - you chose to bugger off early! that's the risk you take!! football lasts 90 minutes plus stoppage time - if you aren't aware it lasts that long and you'd only planned to stick around for 80, then fine - that's your choice (idiotic as it may be) - but quit moaning about missing stuff.
I must admit that I left the Liverpool humiliation five minutes before the end in order to catch the eraly train home and missed Holty's goal . In my defence your honour, it was a) the first time in 45 years of watching the Canaries b) I was nearly in tears c) I have chastised and punished myself ever since
People can leave when they like, thats not a problem. I understand people have different situations and different lives. I'm currently in a position where I don't have to leave early and thats awesome and I am thanksful for that. Those that leave early for trivial things, deserve all they get frankly. It's the people that leave early then blovk gangways watching the game that do me. Stay, or go. Don't block everyone elses view.
more often than not i'm one of the last to leave the ground, win, lose or draw. can't be done with all that rushing about, getting squashed in the queues! i wait ten or so minutes, have a chat with friends or whoever is about, and then just walk out. no stress, no irritation. simples mind you, i do have a 4 mile walk back home afterwards! thank god for pubs...
Doesn't wind me up too much I do think it's a pity for the sake of savings 15 minutes or something in traffic they often miss important moments in the game. I'll always stay to the final whistle even when we used to drive back to Northampton straight after, only two games I have gone to bar the early for half time was that game against Colchester and the game against Coventry when Fotheringham stuck his finger up at us all in the Barclay.
