Think we were about 5/6 days too.

We wanted more but we still had a lot of fun and a lot of great times.

    We went flashpacking to:

    - Hawaii for about 4 days
    - Fiji for about 5 ish days
    - Sydney for 4 ish
    - Brisbane 3
    - Cains 4 ish
    - Adelaide 3 I think
    - Drove the Great Ocean Road and stayed in the middle of nowhere
    - Melbourne 3/4 days
    - New Zealand, Christchurch for 4 days to visit a mate.

It was very full on moving about a lot I must admit but it was great.

I also went to Spain and Germany to go to Oktoberfest that year!

    Busy year for me.

don't get me wrong (the rain didn't help), it's an interesting city and i had a great time. However in terms of experience, i would say Kyoto and Hakone were far bigger differences to anything i had seen/experienced compared to tokyo

Taroko Gorge is a must then. Taipei is a nice capital too with some great day trips on the outskirts on the metro line, really easy to navigate.

Jakarta is the world’s biggest building site atm but there are a few interesting places to visit nearby particularly if its not raining. Bogor, Puncak, Bandung are all nice. If you are young and single then the nightlife is pretty good - I have heard! However its just another megacity and Bali will seem like a haven of relaxation afterwards.

    Thanks <ok>

Actually visiting someone out there so have got myself my own tour guide! Have let them choose most of the places I am going to, so hopefully it's a decent list. Think she wants me to move out there so is trying to impress <whistle>

I'll have to look up Taroko Gorge, cheers for the advice. Taipei i'd really like to see, seems like an interesting place.

Are you planning to rob a bank or something? This sounds a costly trip.

Expecting to spend about £20k-£25k (including flights) for two of us to be away for about 9 months.

If we wanted to be really vindictive, Dull. He’s mind numbingly boring , and nine months with him would drive any sane person into either a murderous or suicidal rage!

If you're heading to Morocco, tap me up I know the place really well. Same for California / Oregon in the US. Also travelled a fair bit in Mexico, Guatemala and Venezuela
