Sports News Spurs, Stoke and QPR to fight over Ivory Coast star By talkSPORT | Monday, May 28, 2012 * Tottenham, Stoke and QPR are battling to secure the signature of Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone. Kone has made a full recovery from a serious knee injury and was a star performer for Levante last season when he netted 15 goals. The talented forward enjoyed a successive loan spell with the Spanish side and has now secured a permanent move from Sevilla. He has signed a one-year deal with Levante, but they are expected to sell him straight away as they look to ease their financial worries. The 28-year-old is believed to have a £9m release clause in his contract and there are no shortage of clubs chasing his signature. Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his forward line as uncertainty surrounds the future of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe. But he faces stiff competition from both Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes, who are also looking to sign another striker and look set for a bidding war during the summer. *
We've only got Adel and Traore at the moment, neither guaranteed a start place it would seem. Just rumors anyway, but I think Sparky is the one to decide how many potential losses to the African Cup of Nothing we can stand.
I know we lose players due to the ACON but I love having African players. They bring a flair to the game which is so entertaining to watch. We have Taarabt, Diakite, Taiwo and Traore at the moment all of which I love to watch play.
Wonder how many of you have watched Kone play? He is real quality! Simular to Cisse. If this story is true I am VERY VERY excited!
