http://m.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/ex...nces-new-job/story-30473919-detail/story.html Apparently Sky Sports has forgotten how his last commentating job went and done the unthinkable of signing Pards himself. His knowledge will be needed on premature celebrations, sleeping with players' wives and what it's like to be a **** manager losing several games on the trot (yes he actually said that last one)
They were no doubt impressed by his punditry prowess on MOTD a few years ago, when he enthusiastically commented on how Micheal Essien "absolutely raped" another player:
That would be pretty damn funny, although I'm sure the southern based media would spin it as us "still having a go" at him....
Actually I'd rather have Pardew than Quinn and as for Merson it would be a step up if he could learn to speak English coherently.
Mersons got a real boner for hating on us as well. It's like sky only employ those who spin the negative on Newcastle, whilst the sympathisers are left for the BBC. Bar Lawrenson who is in a world of his own Not in commentating, just in general
Knowledgeable, good looking, smooth, great manager, great spotter of talent, funny, articulate, football royalty - what's not to like about this appointment? Very pro Newcastle too
I think it's unfair to keep bringing up his rapey comment to judge his abilities as a commentator. It's not his fault the BBC wouldn't invest in decent dictionaries. We all knew what he meant, so I think he did pretty well with the resources available to him.
Perhaps he was using his linguistic skills and utilising the Spanish word for Monkfish (Rape) - thereby simply describing his skills as fish like?
