Bali Mumba in his new No 11 shirt. I like that.

15 mins gone and we have a scuffle. Not vey friendly.

Bristol City probably edged the first 10 but Argyle now playing some expansive football and have made a couple of half chances.

After a period of Argyle domination, Mehmeti is allowed to carry the ball through the centre and put Riis through to score. Not terribly well defended. 0-1

Mehmeti makes a second for Riis with the damage done on Argyle’s right rather than the left. Can’t say I’ve been impressed with the defending in either case, although they are a Championship side.

Half time. Bit of a curate’s egg. Some good attacking play without making clear chances but to me, two bits are of dodgy defending gave City two scoring chances which they took.

Corners need work: we’ve twice hit good crosses to the far post when all the players have gone to the near.

Certainly not a stroll in the park. Both sides would probably have taken cards in a league game.

Teams are out for the second half. No changes for Argyle who are now attacking the Demport End.

Oseni down with a knock. He’s up but a worrying moment at this stage of the season.

Pretty much dead on 60 minutes and Argyle make wholesale changes, including Amaechi. Possibly that was a tactical “injury” then.

Great headed chance for Joe Hatch from a Freddie Issaka cross. The keeper saves though

That’s it, Argyle finish on the front foot but still only really the one attempt on target.

We did play some decent stuff in spells. We were undone by two bits of really good play from Mehmeti, who is an outstanding. We won’t be facing players of that quality every week.

Rather negative report in the ‘Erald. Yes, we were second best but to a team that finished 6th(?) in the Championship last season.

There were some good things in patches. The real test is next week.
