Well , think of the top fifteen (15) clubs where our club will not get anything from in points! If you all think that spending £5/6,ooo,ooo will do the job, then sorry , down we go! My glass is and has been over half full for so many years now, but have seen it all before, SOooooooooooo!! At the moment yes, without a shadow of a doubt. However, there's still time for COLIN to bring in his "5 or 6" players so its impossible to answer definitively until mid-August.
I disagree... I don't think we're going down....Maybe it's the eternal optimist in me, but I believe that if we DO add DJ, Bothroyd, Bullard and Dyer to the squad, we have enough quality to get the points to keep us up. Can anyone see Blackburn doing anything other than crunching along the bottom of the table for 9 months? They barely survived last season, and that tends to continue. The same could be said for Wigan, Wolves, etc, etc. I'm not convinced that for all their signings, Norwich or Swansea will do any better. We had the BEST squad in the Championship, and I fully expect Warnock's motivational powers to come to the fore.
to be honest, IF we go down, we go down fighting!!!! And we get 4 years of parachute money. HOWEVER no side under NW's guidance has ever rolled over and had it's belly tickled. My head says "We are staying up" and my heart also say" We are staying up". I do expect us to get a butt kicking or two...but my blood is blue and white and it ain't over till the fat lady sings
That's what it all hinges on Aero. At the moment its all ifs, buts and maybes with regards to signings. Like I've always said, IF we sign around 6 quality players we have a good chance. But our current squad is a Championship one. And the step up is massive.
Be interesting to know how we would have done last season without Taraabt. I doubt we'd have made the play offs. If we lose him, we needs substantial reinforcement. JayBoth signing is a good start...
I think we would STILL have run away with the league. Taarabt was great all season, but look how many games he disappeared in. I'm obviously much more naive!! I think we have enough quality to survive....but with those signings, we're looking at comfortable mid-table. Blackpool hardly broke the bank, and yet ALMOST pulled it off.....That should NOT be our template though, but I don't expect us to do a 83/84 type season! I can't quite see us in Europe, the season after next!
Blackpool had a far weaker squad than ours when they went up and barely spent any hard money in the prem and almost pulled it off. WBA and Newcastle had no probs last season. Such a defeatest attitude by many on here.... I dunno what signings you were expecting, Messi? Ronaldo? Get a grip, we got a great chance of staying up next season.
mamgo......not sure how you can say we would still have run away with the league without Adel! He scored 20 and made about the same. Without him, we would maybe have made the play offs imo. I think we definitely need a half decent centre half to stay up. Upson would do. I don't rate him at international level, but he's better than anything we currently have! Get a couple of decent defenders in, along with DJ and I think we'll stay up.
If you're trying to tell me that the CCC was particularly strong last season, then we have to agree to disagree. Without Taarabt, we would have played a different system, and I've no doubts in the ability of our manager to have pulled off the same final position. We can go into the Premier League with this squad and do a decent job. That's just MY opinion....and as someone once said.... Opinions are like arseholes....everyone's got one, and it's generally full of **** (That last sentence is aimed at my OWN opinions, not anyone else's, before we get into a silly flame-war!!)

Someone call Gotta gave faith whilst at the same time being realistic, will probably be a long season but can definately do it though would like some more strengthening of the squad in particular 2 x full backs, 1 x centre back, 1 x defensive midfield & another striker would be good.
