That Johnson is a little prick. Should have been banned for feigning injury.

Foy and his linesman let the whole situation get out of hand, Johnson was kicking out at Remy and before Remy lifted his hands to push him away, as for Johnsons actions in lunging away as hit with a sledge hammer words can't describe how sickening that is, I was really disappointed in Houghtons defence of Johnson trotting out the inevitable "He's not that sort of player" nonsense as well. Just have to take it and the impact on the next 3 matches.

Not the best game I've been to and I wouldn't like to go all that way to see another one like it.

    This, 100%! <ok>

Whatever people think about Johnson, Remy was still totally stupid to get involved. Both raising hands and shoving heads together can result in red cards and he got one. So he has no excuses. He has let the club down right before the local derby.

Need to move on and back the team. It's either time for the Mackem Slayer to awaken from his lumbering slumber, or time for a dream debut for Luuk.

The FA have dismissed the appeal lodged by Newcastle over the dismissal of Loic Remy against Norwich on Tuesday evening, meaning that the French striker will begin an immediate three match suspension.

Adding insult to injury, the FA received a similar appeal from the Canaries regarding Bradley Johnson - and opted to rescind the red card he received for his part in the same incident at Carrow Road.

Presumably the FA stance is that Remy head butted Johnson (he didn't) and that Johnson was at no point overly aggressive. That's despite Johnson initiating the incident, aiming a kick at Remy, pushing the Newcastle player away and then feigning injury in what now looks like a successful attempt have his opponent punished.

There is of course one other difference; namely that Chris Hughton sought to defend his player and refused to comment on Remy, while Alan Pardew publicly accepted that the red card for his man was justified - and then made negative comments about Johnson's conduct.

Remy will now miss Saturday's derby, the visit to Chelsea on Saturday week and the Spurs home game before returning when Aston Villa travel to SJP on February 23rd.

The only upside of the FA's decision is that they didn't deem United's appeal to be frivolous and therefore chose not to increase the duration of Remy's original ban.

Well done Pardew again. Doing sweet fa when he could have done the same as CH and possibly had Remy for the derby game.

That is an utter sodding disgrace. Either both are equally guilty or no-one is.

Don't worry about Johnson embarrassing you mate. Tiote done the exact same thing once when our former player Sessegnon touched him in the chest and he went down like a bag of hammers.

What goes around, comes around. Karma <ok>

I think you are exaggerating Johnsons reaction was mild in comparison I was convinced at the time that Tiote did not have long to live

    Talking from experience?

Anyway my take on the incident- you can't act like Remy did then expect anything but a red. He might not have done anything overly dangerous, but it was ann aggressive move and it gives the ref the opportunity to show a red. It is strange though that the Norwich players appeal was a success, but there was a never a chance that Remys would be.

What were you expecting, ask a silly question.......
I thought Sunderland were full of the ancient sayings when they remind us of 9-1 but if you want another ancient saying try "ab asino lanam"
