    I rate Cornelius and Ince.....but £8 million a piece!?!?!?!?

On those 2 alone they will have spent more than we did in our first season in the Prem.

For Ince we got Routledge for £2.5 million (ish).....Also a top winger in the Championship, also was at a Prem club during his development, also had the England youth pedigree....but had some actual experience of the Premiership and a point to prove.

For Cornelius we got Graham for £3.5 million......Cornelius looks the biz but has only done it for 1 season in the Danish League which is a league comparable to the Championship. Graham was a proven consistent performer at that level, if we had gone back down he would have fired the goals in to get us back up.
£8 million is a massive gamble.

Is it just me or are they going about this all wrong?

Big money doesn't necessarily buy class/good players .If thats true in the papers about Makay having a "war chest" of 25 million that doesn't leave a lot to strengthen the rest of the team ,but hi ho it's a risk they're willing to take and what a
    risk .

I am willing them to fork out on Victor Wanyama.

If they get him they will have spent nearly £30 million on 3 unproven players :)

Well - they're rich and want to stabilize themselves in the premirship: they didn't score enough goals last season - it's obvious they want to strengthen THAT part of the game.
I read that they made a new bid for Cardozo aswell. They do have the Money, I'm a bit envyous looking at their sudden firepower: Cardozo/Cornelius would be a handfull for any defence...

Tan is rich Cardiff are on their knees.
The issue I see with Cardiff is the leaky defence after they spend all the war chest on forwards.

If it was my club splashing this cash around when the debt is still an issue and Sam Hamman still has his fingers in the pie, without the crowds to support the kind of wage bill they are racking up.....I'd be worried.

If after 10 games they are not looking much like a team and they are in and around the relegation spots I'd panic!

In Mackay's first season he should have had manager of the year. He came in to a club with massive financial difficulties and barely had enough players to put a team out.
That summer he was very canny picking up bargains and freebies to put together a squad with a great work ethic who became very stubborn to beat and steely/determined grinding out wins. Culminating in last year's promotion. Fair ****s.

You can't just drop a couple of (potential) star players into that team and expect it to work. There is no pattern of play established, they don't keep possession of the football particularly well, they don't create many chances.

They are taking a massive risk with the future of their club and I for one hope that if it does go tits up 3/4 years down the line the Welsh Assembly doesn't get involved with keeping them afloat. If you take reckless risks you should carry the consequences.

The Cardiff fans and media are currently egging on the idiots running Cardiff to spend money like Montgomery Brewster....when it goes wrong remember that.

Let them spend. I have no issues with that. They are just trying to give themselves the best chance of staying up. If they are paying over the odds then it's no big deal if they stay in PL for another season. The rewards will far outweigh the 25m war chest mentioned. I see it that because of debt they really need to stay in the PL for a few seasons to sort that out.

Its a gamble the amount they are spending but in my humble opinion they now need as a matter of urgency to shore up their defence. Its all very well if they get 1 or 2 goals a game but if they are shipping 2 or 3 then its slippery slope time.

Is this the Cardozo (Oscar) from Benfica, Mikra? If so, he's got a terrific strike rate for them; about 106/160 if I remember correctly. He's also a big lad at 6ft 4" so if he gets paired with Cornelius who's about the same size, we can all guess Cardiff's tactics next season. They'll get some goals though for sure.

cornelius is a cracking buy but ince is a few million over price i reckon. cardiff are doing great in their recruitment drive and they wont be anyone's pushover this season, they will certainly give us a run for our money and anyone who thinks different are deluded....Its going to be a close run thing who will be the best team this season and i hope its us but i wont be putting any money on it as its that close...<ok>

And Cornelius is used to playing with a Pacey Brazilian striker from FC København...

As I see it Cardiff are making great deals, at a Price yes - but their owner seems to have both the Money and the willpower to act...

Its all very well having the potential fire power upfront but if their midfield are forced to play deep then its long ball time and hope for the best.

Cornelius looks like he might well be worth the money given his potential, but I wouldn't pay £8m for Ince.

As for the Cardozo rumour; bollocks. He is a very good player, and Cardiff being linked to him is more unrealistic than us being linked to Negredo.

I think we now have a conclusive answer on this issue.

I am now hoping they spend big in January and go down anyway...if this happens I can see them flapping around near the bottom of League 2 in under 5 years <laugh>

The question some of you need to ask yourselves is, will they take 6 points of us? Now whatever their situation regarding relegation etc, that would be an unmitigated disaster, and one I would not want to see, so be careful all this doesn't back fire on us, we are already losing against a bloody useless Villa today, and some of you need to get your heads from out of your fat miserable arse's!..................<ok>
