Seeing news going around on Twitter an Everton fan has been stabbed by a QPR fan. From what I can gather there wasn't a serious scuffle beforehand and ambulances are attending.

That is all we need right now.... Unbelievable really considering how fans are usually thoroughly searched before matches.

Hopefully no truth. If its true hope he's ok. This would probably cement us as one of the most hated premiership teams ever. I stress if true.

Would be strange if true. On way back and didn't see any trouble before, during or after.

Well done Staines for getting there. What was the atmosphere like in the QPR end?

I thought the atmosphere was a bit low to be honest mate. Seemed we are mostly resigned to our fate now. Bit of gallows humour with 'Que sera sera, we're going to Barnsley'.
Very disapointed with how quiet the Everton fans were also.

Best part was meeting up with Finglas, Inked and the Irish crew before in the Arkles, great bunch and pleasure to meet them all.

Annoyingly, that gag looks to be spoiled by Barnsley heading for League One. They lost 6-0 at home today!

Reading other forums of both sides, it looks like there was a stabbing and Q.P.R. coaches got held back while police investigated. Don't know if anyone got arrested.

Apparently stabbing victim is a 21-year-old Everton fan. He suffered abdominal injuries but it's not thought to be life-threatening. He's been hospitalised. A 17-year-old "Q.P.R." is wanted by the police.

Likewise Stainesey. Not long back and very tired.

We had a great day. We started out as a group of 6, many of whom had never met. We all got on like a house on fire and had an absolutely brilliant day. Met a girl on the flight from Galway, Susie. She promised she would look in to this site. If you read this Susie, you were a great laugh. You would be a great addition to this site. Hope you come on board.

Met Staines and his buddies in the Arkles and had a couple of beers and a chat with them. Thanks once again Staines for being so friendly to us all. You are a sound bloke.

The two lads from Mayo arrived and then in the ground we met two more lads from Navan. Great to meet you two lads. I took some photos of your flags which I may post here tomorrow when I have a bit more energy.

Finally, Tramore, Inkedupp and Sharon. You were a pleasure to be with today. Full of laughs and great conversation.

Despite the match and the result, we had a really brilliant day. Thanks to you all.

Merseyside Police is appealing for information after a serious assault in Anfield on Saturday afternoon. Just after 5pm, a 20 year old man was walking down Priory Road when at the junction with Walton Lane it’s believed he intervened in an argument between a man and woman, and received a stab wound to the chest.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but not life threatening injuries. Officers are examining CCTV from the area, and are speaking with witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Steve Reardon said: “This incident happened straight after the Everton v. QPR match and when there were a lot of people in the area. People would have witnessed this incident and I would urge them to come forward.”

“I’m also keen to speak to the woman who was seen arguing with the offender prior to the assault. She may have vital information that could assist with our enquiries. Anyone with any info about this incident or anyone who witnessed it is asked to call detectives on 0151 7774065 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

    --------

I was wondering why this terrible incident wasn't all over the news, but this doesn't make it sound football related and therefore less newsworthy. Let's hope the man is ok and that the Police catch the culprit.
