The Swans have teed up the deal for the 19-year-old left back and now want to push it through in the next fortnight. Kingsley has already been to Swansea for talks and is very keen to follow former team-mate Jay Fulton to the club. Midfielder Fulton made his debut for the Swans in the final game of the season against Sunderland and Scotland youth cap Kingsley will be offered the same fast-track route from the Bairns to the Premier League. Swansea are willing to splash out on Kingsley, with an initial down payment of around £300,000 but rising with appearances. - See more at: http://www.sportinastorm.com/Premie...left-back/X1Y77Z1760595?#sthash.FB4cFBon.dpuf Stephen Kingsley: "I need to keep my head down and not take any notice." STEPHEN KINGSLEY insists he wonât let fresh speculation linking him with a move to Swansea get in the way of him helping Falkirk stay top of the league. The 19-year-old full-back was last night the subject of a fresh approach from the English Premier League club who offered a?substantial six-figure sum for him and team-mate Jay Fulton. Bairns general manager David White has vowed that the ?Championship leaders will only sell the gifted youngsters for the right price. And Kingsley â who has also caught the eye of Celtic and Wolves ahead of tomorrow nightâs signing deadline â is adamant his main focus is on beating Morton on Saturday. He said: âItâs great to hear people talking about me and clubs such as Celtic and Swansea. I was also down at Wolves recently just to see what it was like and it was a great experience. âBut I need to keep my head down and not take any notice. âI need to focus on Saturday and facing Morton. What happens will happen and if anything emerges then itâs down to Falkirk to discuss the matter.â Kingsley is contracted to the club until the summer of 2015 and sources at the Falkirk Stadium have suggested the two clubs have yet to settle on a suitable fee for the defenderâs move. But Fulton is out of contract in the summer and, with the player unlikely to renew his deal at Falkirk, talks are thought to be at an advanced stage to take the midfielder to the Liberty Stadium this month. General manager White said: âThere has been quite ?significant interest in our young players in recent weeks and bids were always expected. âBut we are in no rush to sell and fans can be assured that only when our valuations are met will players be allowed to move.â
tbf Taylor has shown himself up so many times that saying he's not very nice is like commenting the grass is green. Thought he was bigger than the club before his injury and was looking for out and has repeated his wish to leave if he isn't first choice. My opinion of Taylor has been the same since his comeback - not as good as he was nor as good Ashe thinks he is.
Taylor has been the No2 since Davies was forced to step in his shoes when he had that nasty injury and until then he was the No1. Its no secret that he is not happy at being the No2 but that's life. You take your chance when the opportunity arises and Davies did that, this guy from Scotland looks a good proposition for the future and that's the way forward. Taylor i only want if he is prepared to fight for his place or if he is not careful as he is under contract he could find himself No3 in the pecking order.... the grass is not always greener...
This more or less confirms my view as expressed in my post above. Taylor has now become the latest villain, and everybody, well, almost everybody, just loves to vilify a good old fashioned villain.
He's not being paid to be a nice guy so that aspect doesn't bother me , he's still young with a lot to offer in terms of footballing .He wants to be playing regularly so who could blame him for wanting to go , it wasn't that long ago we were discussing all the deadwood at the club and we needed to get them off the wage bill .I certainly don't consider him "deadwood ' but we're paying good wages to a player who isn't playing
To be fair to Taylor, if I was him, I'd be pissed off at not getting a chance after the way Ben has played this season.
To be fair to Taylor, he hasn't had a run of games to show us what he can do. You say Taylor is not a nice lad, that he has got a chip on both shoulders now that he is not no1. To be quite honest, I am glad, I would be more disapointed if he was content and happy being no2. Lets not forget that this nasty boy, done his bit in India not so long ago too, so I would say he is more of a nice guy than a horrible one. Also just because he is unhappy about not getting a chance, or at least a decent run of games, and not happy at being no2, and considering a move away to get FIRST TEAM FOOTBALL, does not make him a nasty lil guy, it makes him motivated, because he believes in himself. And good luck to the boy. And also to be fair, when he has had a few appearances, he hasn't been too bad, the only real mistake is the Everton game, but that happens. So why not give him a run? Why play Tiendalli when we had Taylor who could have covered for Rangel? Tiendalli we all know is not very good, Taylor IMO is a much better player than Tiendalli. But Tiendalli was picked to play, and Taylor only made a sub appearance. Would you be happy if you were in his shoes? So I am with Vetch, there is a new villain to be strung up.
True, but he is paid to be effective and ranting at other players for his mistakes isn't acceptable (tends to be worse when he's made captain for the day), it also isn't effective when he doesn't know where on the pitch he's supposed to be, and it isn't effective when he fouls up in the opposition's have and stays there instead of busting a gut to defend. Nothing about being a nice guy or the latest villain taylor has had this in his game since he arrive but it has got worse since he no longer waltzes into the team. And for those who sing his praises and condemn Chico - think Forrest!
I agree with Libertarian. There is a tendency to have a dig at players who may be leaving, and Taylor has been a very good player for us but Davies has stepped in well so it was always going to be a struggle for him to get back in. Understandable he's pissed off. Most players at this level should have some ego and be hurting if they lose their place. Would love to have all three as options and it still may happen. If Taylor goes good luck to him. His injury was horrific and I hope he regains some of his form and gets his career back on track.
If Taylor goes , all the best to a terrific swan . He could have left early before his injury , to Newcastle If I remember correctly , but stayed . Any of us in his shoes would want to get first team football and shop himself around . He will to , because he's a good player and teams know it . Wish he would stay , but wish him the best wherever he ends up . My guess is Newcastle may come for him again.
