http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...BBC-complaints-after-Womble-removes-head.html My estimation of the public gets lower every day, it seems
That's what you would think will happen going by parents' reactions. Imagine Clarkson had been in the costume, they wouldn't have been able to handle the complaints.
I don't see what's wrong with that. If a kid is big into the Wombles or any other kids programme it would be a good idea to keep the illusion alive. Same thing as people working in Disneyland or wherever and they remove their hat spoiling it for the weans. It's only expected a few parents would be ****ed off
I totally agree Medro. Its unfair on the kids. They will have plenty of time in later life to become all twitter and bisted. We are spoiling the age of innocence.
"Now I have an absolutely crushed and distraught six-year-old." By 6 I knew that TV shows with puppets were not real. I mean it was a long time ago but I remember the context of said shows (the essence, impression, or feeling) as being a fictional TV show not actual events being depicted. I mean 2 or 3 yeah but not 6!
Physically, not mentally. Nothing ageist about it. If a 6 or 7 year old do not know that puppets are real their parents need to worry about their development.
Bollocks. Stop spoiling kids fun. Its people like you who turn us all cynical from such an early age. Leave the kids alone. Let them enjoy themselves when young.
Worry about their kids development at 6 years old if they think puppets are real!?! Wind your neck in.
What about 6 year old children who are slow? Should they have their fun spoiled? Sam = Scrooge <humbug>
Orinoco always was a loose cannon so it's not really that big a shock, if it had been Tobermory then there would have been major civil unrest. ****ing Wombles are well past it now, I'm dreading the day when I have to explain to my kids that Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy are not actually real.
Don't tell them that Upsy Daisy, Iggle Piggle etc aren't real. Tell them they've been killed. That will be easier for them to accept.
