Well I think most of our money will be earmarked for a couple of top class strikers. If it is, I don't mind us shopping for bargains and frees elsewhere on the pitch.
i dont see us signing many midfielders. Look who we have (when fit) Henderson, Sessegnon, Cattermole, Colback, Elmo, Richardson, Malbranque, Muntari (loan i know), Meyler, Riveros (i like him fantastic passer, should get his chance in the final four games) A winger is needed but other than that were fine i think, certainly no need for anyone like Vaughan
ron, you just summed it up, look who we have (when fit) i'm looking mate, and if we want to kick on, some of them need to go, and unfortunately some are coming to an end, so realistically we have, henderson, sess, cats, colback, meyler, so midfield is essential
i don't think he's any better than we've got already. as stated already we could do with a winger, but other than that midfield is ok. lets hope we sort out some strikers, and fullbacks before we even think of midfield.

na mate you got it wrong, elmo is a future safc star, i never mentioned him about midfield, as we never know where he is gonna play
yeah but for me it isnt as essential as sorting the def and striker problems out. I argree with you about who we need to shed to move on, but how much money can we expect to spend this summer? definatly not enought to overhaul practically the entire squad. Realistically were looking at minor changes to the majority of the squad given the need for 3 quality strikers to come in. we might get lucky with free transfers..(N Zogbia, Seb Larsson not sure who else is available) but as i said the need for strikers and cost the brings really limits our options improve elsewhere
it's gonna be a juggling act, no way can safc afford 3 top strikers. we may very well break our transfer record on one, and then maybe another in the doyle price bracket. we desperately need to sort the left wing out, and i pray it's not insomia. we can never have a squad to strong, as has been proven lately, and there is gonna be a lot of decent players moving in the summer, it's bruce's job to entice them to safc, that's why we need to get as many points till the end of season, and make safc look inviting to the better players.
Its all about cost, how much can we expect Short to keep putting in summer after summer. We got 24mil from bent but how much of that is a replacement going to set us back? Then we need another 2 forwards, winger, left back and then you get to the loan situation. If bruce wants to keep any of them its going to come at a cost...i read somwhere Neds alone would set us back 6mil or so. Like you said its gonna be a juggling act
how much is a replacement striker going to cost? a lot, a ****ing lot, if safc mean business, a top striker is gonna break the bank, and finding a good one is a real expensive gamble.
I really don't think we need 3 new strikers Ron. We already have Noble, Lynch, Gyan and Sess, as well as Campbell to come back. If 4 of the 5 are fit to start next season, I see us only needing to sign 2 new strikers.
