Valentines day 1976 our promotion season Played away at Leyton Orient won 1-0 Orient fans very friendly however the West Ham game had been called off and West Ham's Nutters decided to come to Brisbane Road to start a fight. Every thing was fine at the ground we got on really well with the genuine Orient fans but after we were held back in the ground at the end of the game difficult as not all City fans were segragated 2 policemen escorted us back to the coaches. As we approached the line of coaches a mob of WHU 'fans' attacked us and the coppers beat a hasty retreat was anyone else there that day and were you also on the official coaches and witnessed the attacks.
Have nothing but praise for the Orient fans who came charging back and waded into the WHU bunch probably saved a lot of us from real problems.

Being a touch perverse, how about the 1-7 hammering by Northampton in the 4th Division?

Took my wife on a Sunday day out! Lunch in a plastic "Little Chef" en route, sat in the old wooden stand with loads of City fans, and with the lads on the bank behind one goal, I reckon we outnumbered the home lot!

Every time they attacked they scored. They had a giant centre half, I think called Gage who caused havoc in our penalty box.

When Glynn Riley scored at 0-5, I stood up cheering very loudly only to be met with a scornful look from my wife and a terse "Sit down and shut up. It's only 1-5 now so we're still losing by plenty"

Not one of our better memories but I really do believe that all football fans need to suffer those days to fully appreciate the good days.

Here's another "bad day at the office"

Early nineties away at Newcastle under Kevin Keegan; Cole and Jacki did their usual trick of hiding for the whole game as they often did away from home.
Pissing down with rain and it found it's way inside the barbour waterproof jacket, two dodgy penalties when born again christian Gavin Peacock cheated by diving for both. End result Newcastle 5 -0 City!

When we stopped at Tamworth services, in a very crowded gents toilet, a loud voice was heard to say "Dennis Smith is going to play the City's women's team next week. That way we will have eleven real ****s on the pitch"

Nice that we City fans never seem to lose our sense of humour.

PS; no offence intended to any of our female posters.
