Nobody has qualified yet (except Morocco as hosts). The next tournament is in 2015, and they haven't even announced the qualification schedule yet. There's the African Nations Championship next year, but none of our players are eligible to play as it's only for players still playing in their own country.
Suspect you are right. Everton "paper talk" had him as a £5m striker. Which is coincidentally what Sunderland paid for Graham, which is worrying. But realistically you could probably get him for half that.
Yes, you are right. Wasn't trying to start a mystery hunt, just making the point that until you know who it is it looks too good to be true. I suppose what I'm saying is:- Is he worth a punt on his statistics alone, and can Bruce keep him onside and out of trouble? In my view yes. I don't see any point in getting a slightly better "Graham" or "Sagbo". I think we need something different, like a Fraiser Campbell or, perish the thought, McCormack from TWS. I'm not endorsing either of them, or Odemwingie, just suggesting that as we have Sagbo and Graham, something different might help the shape of the team.
No you're right. Graham and Fryatt are very similar players from what I've seen. Sagbo is the only striker we've got who brings something different and with him out for two more games, it looks like we might need to bring in somebody else. It'd be good to have a goal poacher, who works off the shoulders of defenders and scores goals similar to the one Robbie Brady got last night. Like a younger Kevin Phillips or Niall Quinn. Seriously, why doesn't he just trawl through the European Leagues, see who scored a **** load of goals, scout them and if theyre good enough, bring them in?!
Sadly, Odemwingie might be our best hope. As long as he leaves his attitude in the midlands, i'd have him.
Fair comment, if that's what he believes, having said which, I don't suppose never scoring helps team spirit much either.
