    you can use your smartphone or tablet as a remote with this.

    it runs using openelec which is linux based and not android based. the same as the maizbox u mentioned earlier

    Ah okay, so this box will do the same as the Maiz box but is £70 cheaper, sounds like a no brainer then

    mine cost 30 for rasp pi - i had an sd card hanging around and any android phone micro usb charger 5v 2amp

    looking at the list of things supplied - i reckon you could get then cheaper off ebay if your bought them separately £45-50.

    cases are cheap as chips on ebay - if you can hard wire to router then thats better than wifi

    Well for a tenner extra I could buy something predone which is good for me, and the router would be connected via Ethernet as its right there

    You know the cards, can you record onto to them? 8gb seems a bit small

    get up to a 32gb if you like - you can record movies onto the space left after the operating system - you'll have about 25gb - movies are under 1gb normally

    any time - nbc sports extra is the way to go - a us vpn and you'll get every game

    Been using Maze Box for nearly a year. Have to say it's great for TV series and films because you get to see stuff well in advance, but lately it's gone really poor for sports. Not sure why. If I can't get to a game I usually watch a feed through the PC.

    Well it is for the sport I need mine for, the maiz box is £130 and the ones on eBay are around half the price for the same thing. So if I can't get sport very well I can still get films and series, I'll be happy with that. I only need football feeds for the away games though ;)

    It was great for sport when I bought it Jager but less so now. Highly recommended for everything else though.
