"The behaviour of ball boys slowing down the return of the ball is not new and happens at other grounds throughout Europe. The problem here is that it was blatant and totally unacceptable behaviour by a member of staff, as that is what ball boys are even if they are not paid. I have supported Swansea for almost 70 years and I am of the opinon that Hazard made an error of judgement by not waiting for the referee to intervene but the authorities are making a huge mistake if they let our club off without a fine. The lack of a fine simply condones such unacceptable behaviour." - Siwn/Switzerland

Ballboys will get a warning from FA in the wake of Eden Hazard affair. Ballboys at all England’s professional clubs are being told to avoid time-wasting or other “inappropriate behaviour” by the Football Association as a result of the Eden Hazard affair, which resulted on Friday in the Chelsea midfielder being charged with misconduct.

By the way I too want our club fined!

A fine for Swansea would be okay, but if it isn't at least £1m then why bother?

I have posted this here, because I had it pulled on the Swansea board, some don't not like self examination, but many of us Jacks are not happy with the antics of our now infamous ball boy, and think that our club should be dealt with too. Anyway hope it survives on her, and hope Hazard fights the FA ruling!........<ok>

Seems a bit OTT to punish Swansea. Plenty of clubs do this. Stoke's ballboys refused to offer our players the Rory Delap towel a couple of years ago. All part of home advantage and the ref should add adequate time.

Exactly. I'm sure we've all seen silly little incidents like that at games in the past and just moved on. No disrespect to the OP as I agree with him, and I have no desire to tell mods to censor things but i almost think it's time to pull threads on this issue as it's been done to death. Lots of people have made the point that the whole sorry incident has taken the gloss off one of the greatest night's in swansea's history - that's a massive shame. I suspect a lot of Chelsea fans might think it's taken the spotlight off of benitez as he could have got an absolute roasting in the papers on Thursday had this not been blown out of all proportion.

I still have the up most respect for Swansea, and by a long way they are my favorite club outside Chelsea. They have nothing to account for. The FA just needs to let it rest, but no, they want to make an example of a player and that only makes them look idiotic for doing so.

Swansea have been superb about it. The lad Morgan made a silly mistake. Let's move on and enjoy the football Swnasea play in the final with their great fans.

Don't see why Swansea should be punished at all tbh. People can make up that they told there ballboys to timewaste but none of the other ballboys wasted time, only the fat little dickhead, Swansea are not at fault in the slightest

He's the son of?.. You got it. 17 year old little pr!ck had no place anywhere near that game other than with his old man licking socialite balls in the box.

So clubs can face fines for fans behaviour but not a ball-mans misbehaviour which is essentially staff misconduct. No, a fine would be totally correct as actions of their staff caused the incident. A heavy fine would pretty much put an end to such things, plus it would be nice to see the look on daddy's face if sh!tbag cost the club a cool mil<laugh>

The only possible way Swansea should incur a heavy fine would be if it could be shown there was collusion between the Ballboy and the club management/board. This I believe would be near impossible to prove. They had broken an FA rule over the age of the ballboy but that itself only merits an investigation into how all clubs employ them. It seems the spotlight is already on them as today one was removed from duty before a match for throwing a snowball at a coach driver.

The need to prove there has been no collusion is vital though as the sums of money involved in any game are huge. Any cheating should be considered a major fraud. Just think of the sums involved with thousands paying to attend, staff wages and even these are dwarfed by the sums placed in bets on every game. You can be certain quite a lot of money was bet on that particular game in the Far East alone.

Many good posts here lads, but I'm only here to say how pleased I am, and I'm sure many Jacks would be too, to see Hazard not get any more grief from the FA on this issue, really pleased with the news!...................<ok>

PS: I'd just like to add that I'm privy to some things that went on in the background on this issue, and while I've not been a fan of John Terry, his actions and that of Lampard with our ball boy Charlie Morgan, have been very impressive, both Lampard and Terry called Charlie to your dressing room that evening, and both were fantastic with the lad (Not that he deserved it) and he was even presented with Hazards kit from that game too, so thanks very much lads for what went on in the background that evening, even though in my opinion it was as much our fault as yours! Many thanks indeed..................<cheers>
