A bloody good game, enjoyed that.

Buckley, immense first half......what's that Baz?

Overall Catts is the man, the man is a machine.superb.

Mannone, man what the fook, coming out like that, superb...

Wickham should have buried his early chance before they scored, and Fletcher lagging again but tried...We need a new option.

But on a side note Man U..what has happened to them? As a one of, todays game there wasn't many i would like Poyet to get to sign, thought they were nearly all ****e.....I know they are better than that, but today, nah..

First goal for Rodwell, if he hadn't scored, you would never had known he was playing...

Please Gus, get a new set piece taker..i ****ing scream everyime them twats on tv harp on about the magic of Larsson at set pieces....

    Overall a bloody good game.

Well done Gus, and the forgotten man Mauricio Taricco

Think we should have pushed on more 2nd half, gone for the win. They were there for the taking I thought.

Happy with a point and we created man uniteds best chances for them.

Still would rather Wickham as the main man. My only gripe. Cattermole excellent again.

The more I see of bridcutt the worse he looks. We looked ropey when the came on.

Just what are you expecting? that ****ty championship player, the one who you havn't even given a chance, ran riot that first half, against Man U...not ****ing Carlisle or some ****s Man U.

How can you deem they ****e, without having a chance to prove otherwise?

I seen the lad play before & he will not improve us sorry. signing players like him, bridcock & gomez will always keep you fighting to stay up. we need players what can take us up the league.

Plus that Man united team we played today wouldn't finish in top 10.

He was mainly up against the young lad on the left of the back three. Blackett was it? Strong player that boy.

Buckley isn't fit yet either so I think there is more to come from him. He was Gus's highlight of the day.

Rodwell didn't do much but he is getting valuable game time and it will probably be 10 games in for him to start to look good. Until then a goal every 2 is fine.

We didn't set the world on fire but I enjoyed the overall effort against a nervous Man Utd.

Catts was a deserved MOTM and I was impressed with Buckley's pace and attitude. Our defence was solid with both fullbacks very comfortable on the ball.

I have to also add that other than Catts and Brown, I thought Vergini was absolutely superb !!

Take a point and be happy lads. Would have lost to WBA and Man U last year. We are improving, KTF !

Not one for the neutrals but as a Sunderland fan I enjoyed that. We matched them all over the pitch, although it wasn't the best Man United team I've seen and that formation is going to cause them a lot of problems for a long time.

A display that gives me confidence that we wont struggle this season but we wont find winning easy, Fletcher looks to be drinking in the last chance saloon he only plays because there is little alternative, I have a gut feeling that this will change very soon. The rest of the team look well organised, and its testament to them that we are coping with the loss of Borini, Alonso and Colback, by the end of the transfer window I believe we will be stronger than last season, we have to be.

Due to family emergency had to leave at early and I'm now back in Edinburgh, Grand Daughter stung on the lip by a wasp, full blown anaphlyaxis never in danger but traumatic none the less.

Buckley was revelation in the first half, did he get marked out in the second period?

Thought we asked more questions than they did.

    Well pleased.

I'd just like to make one point about Rodwell. He was a bit anonymous today, as several others have said, but then he can't have played badly. People who have bad games get noticed, right? Quietly efficient and in the right place when it mattered will do for me in the lad's second game.

I like Altidore so much better now he has someone to play alongside. It allows him to move around a bit and drag defenders away from the middle - all three of our goals came from midfielders because they have space in front of them now. The only downside for me today was that Gary Bennett thought Jozy felt his hamstring at one point. I hope that's taken care of this week.

An all-round good performance, and we would probably have won it if Connor had managed to bury his first half chance. They fed off that and it gave them their goal.

I felt a bit disappointed that we didn't win. It was there for the taking however a point was good as well. Maybe sign of the progress under Gus that a draw at home to Man Utd is a disappointment.....still a few players to get up to speed. Rodwell obviously, Buckley looked knackered after 60 mins but things are starting to look good!!! Let's get that win at QPR and really set out our stall for this season....

To the OP. Decent set piece taker? That corner from Larsson was pin point onto the head of Rodwell who lost his marker and finished in the tried and tested manner of heading it down (and into the goal). Give the man a break ffs. Ok, he lost his man for the Man U goal - schoolboy error for someone of his experience, but then van Aanholt should have done better to block the cross. Buckley looked impressive and caused all sorts of problems before he tired. Vergini again surprised me in that he gets involved all over the pitch, needs to improve his crossing. Catts was immense again. Brown and O'Shea did their jobs. Mannone made the best tackle all game. Fletch looks jaded and Jozy should have come on earlier. Gomez didn't do much and looked a bit weak. As for Bridcutt? Early days, good for the squad but he won't improve by slagging him off... KTF, decent point, disappointed not to get all three - they were there for the taking, but hey we've got twice as many points as we had this stage last season and I don't expect us to lose the next 5 games...

I thought Rodwell was very decent and the manner in which we fell apart after he went off speaks for me. Catts and Seb looked great and did a lot more things that were seen. Vergini was fantastic too. But I thought Rodwell gave us that polish in possession we lost after he went off - and he was the only one to hit the target which kind of matters too!

I think Brown and O'Shea were quiet achievers as well.

Buckley was very solid in the beginning but definitely faded as the game went on. I hope he's got enough in his tool kit not to get figured out after a season or so. (Sorry for being a bit pessimistic there).

Wickham is as slow as it gets and Fletch was pretty annonymous again. While we have to be patient and not judge too harshly after 2 games, I would stick Altidore in there for one or the other - he's faster and has a much better work rate and seems to create more action. I want to see once and for all if he's got what it takes. Boy do we need a real attacker in before the window closes.
