Sorry I'm in work and I can't really read back through the whole thread. Has anyone read wikipedia? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammar_Jemal
"Jemal has signed for Southampton FC due to his undying love and hunger for Wotsits, which are not readily available in Switzerland." (Wikipedia) - sounds like a good enough reason to me!
Tunisian international defender Ammar Jemal, who plays for Young Boys Berne (Switzerland D1) is at hand to engage with the English club Southampton, just to get into Championship (second division English). This season, the former Etoile du Sahel played 39 games in the jersey of the club of the Swiss capital. Ammar Jemal only has to pass the traditional series of medical examinations before wearing the jersey of the Saints, and become the teammate of Radhi Jaidi.
hmmmmm hope this is still going to happen - think we are still a CB short of a top quality squad...although by all accounts Martin had a very good afternoon yesterday!?
Looks like he could well be a promising player! Looking forward to the new season as the signings we have made are definitely improving the side!!!
Yeah I thought there was a chance that he was referring to this, he needs international clearance and other boring things before anything can be announced. Not that I am assuming this is a done deal.
Don't think work permit is such an issue as he's probably played for Tunisia recently, whereas getting one for Jaidi was more difficult as he hadn't.
