I think the lads have given their all tonight and looked good but my main question mark over our first five games (inc Rochdale) ive seen is where the goals are coming from. This could be a problem over the next few games. Im not sure Boothroyd is the answer up front on his own and up to the required standard at this level. Ive seen from the first four games that the premiership is a completely different level from the championship and I cant see any games being an easy 3 pts particulary away from home or come to that at home. On tonights evidence we will be fine and will grind out some fine results along the way.

Yes, they've put on a storming display after just a few days training together. Toon know they got away with a point tonight, we were well worth a win...

Yes, the goals will come. The Premiership is full of quality and there won't be any easy game, but we can compete. Great team performance tonight and proud of the lads

A touch harsh, but see where you're coming from. Give the new boys some time to settle, and I can only see good times coming to LR

Yes, again this was a great performance I would have taken a draw before the game but now feel disapointed says everything to me.

Perhaps im being harsh. I think our play tonight was good (particularly our we had many debutants) and Newcastle gave us nothing as one expects from a good premiership team but ive just got my doubts of Boothroyd as a ruthless striker and at home we will have to take our chances aginst the likes of teams like Blackburn and Villa in the next few weeks. Its early days but with DJs record last season he has to be my no 1 starter or even Tommy Smith who has been clinical at this level over the last few seasons.Overall at this early stage a good point. Agree with Gary Neville best performance so far of the season and plenty to look forward to.

    Yes you are.

We created plenty of superb chances and bothroyd and especially dj will come good. I also reckon SWP will get quite a few too

It took you 4 games this season to reach that conclusion?! Haven't you ever watched Premiership football before? Are you really a football fan Dave???

The goals will come. No doubt about it.

Come on guys, he's probably raising a point that is fair, just not at this time when we've just played like that. But Boothroyd did look a bit Hulsesque at times and in the second half he dropped right back so we didn't have a striker. But I have a feeling he'll start scoring soon, but I do feel we will need to spend money on a striker come January.

But we will have plenty of goals from the midfield, each of them were amazing tonight. SWP had a fantastic game. But for me Adel was the one, not because he played the best, that was Faurlin or SWP, but it was the maturity of his game tonight that showed that he is going rise to the Premiership standards and now that he has some quality around him he doesn't have to do it all himself.

Amazing game apart from a lack of goals, but we should no way worry about relegation now.

I would have been more worried if Bothroyd didn't get into those positions. Apart from the early volley miss (where he def should have done better) he got into the right positions, the problem being he was half a second to late every time. But give him a couple of games and he'll adjust to the pace and the goals will come.
Overall very encouraged with our build up and link up play after such a short time together.

Just a bit of bad luck. After all the signing have been made, Bothroyd is one of the most exciting for me. He's been really good so far and he will get in gear soon. DJ looks good, too. The goals will come!

Bothroyd missed a couple of decent chances tonight (didn't have the best of views from the back of the Loft), we hit the post 3 times at Wigan, had one cleared off the line against Bolton etc etc.

The goals will come. I'd like us to give Campbell a start if fit at Wolves.

Actually Swords Ive been to 75 per cent of QPRs home games since we beat West Ham 3-0 (Allen 2 Goddard 1) at home in 1978 so please dont question my status as a football fan or a QPR fan. Ive done done Vauxhall Motors in the FA cup,Totttenham and Oxford at Wembley, Bury, Port Vale away in September on a Tuesday night in the 1st round of the league cup in the 90s just as an example of many 100s of Rs games home and away ive attended many in the lower flights. All im saying is my observation from the first few games of actually participating in the top flight is the standard has massively improved from when we were last there and until you are in it you dont quite fully appreciate how good it is now and my observsations from our 4 games so far is that you are going to need a clinical sriker or two to score the goals to survive. I dont see Boothroyd as being that man but agree its early days. I just think our goals up front will come from DJ Campbell who over the years is a prolific striker at all levels and I agree with The Lone Ranger come jan we are going to probably have to buy another striker just to make sure of survival.

I thought Bothroyd was good today, other than a touch of wastefulness. On another day he wouldn't of had his shot cleared off the line, and we'd all be happy!

i posted this in the Newcastle thread : "also, Jay just needs confidence(his first PL goal should do it). He was wasteful in front of goal, but i don't think he lost a header in the first half! Great foil for the rest of the side, good hold up play."

Before I get shouted down Im more then happy to be proved wrong about Mr Boothroyd and he will get my total backing when i attend our games but I just know DJ is the man to put the ball in the net on a more consistent level if and when he gets on. Apologies if ive upset any fellow Rs fans. The team have my full support.
