So recently Mrs luv was given the option of taking Methotrexate to deal with a condition. It's a horrible drug to take unless really necessary for the likes of cancer. So we've gone down the alternative healing route. It's interesting and I can see how some of it is designed to relax you and it's probably more of a placebo than actual science. It's going well so far (remember the Gong Bath post I made), along with the sound therapy there's a diet plan which seems to make sense. The hippy bird then comes out with "I used to be a dragon fly". I think you have to just ignore some of it and take the sensible advice while ignoring the mental health issues of the people involved. Anyway thoughts?
When my old dear had cancer, she had a wound in her mouth that wouldnt heal, i hooked her up with some cannabis tincture as id seen and read enough to be confident it wouldn't affect her treatment. Popped by a few weeks later and my mum couldn't wait to show me how it had helped with healing her wound, seriously... before it looked like someone had taken a power drill to her and after usingbthe tincture her mouth healed up in less than a month, she showed the dr nest time she webt to the hospital and even he was amazed how her mouth had healed up, when she told him she had Been using cannabis tincture he simply said to her "i cant officially recommend you use the tincture but definitely keep using it" She was a bit worried the doc would give her **** for it but quite the opposite happened. So yes i believe natural medicines and alternative treatments can work for certain things and certain people. All thr best to mrs luv too bro
The ‘wellness’ sector is now 3x as big as ‘big pharma muh’ globally. It’s full of spivs and snake oil salesman. Some of it might have medical credence, most of it doesn’t imo.
The wife of a good friend of mine as struggled with depression and anxiety for many years, all came to a head a couple of years ago when she went completely off the rails but after much love and patience from her close friends and family, she got back on track but was determined to try something different as she came to the conclusion the drugs she was on were part of the problem. S Her son got her to see an alternative therapist who was recommendedto him, who basically changed her life style completely but just as much as the remedies involved it was also a change in diet and also got her doing exercise outside, regardless of weather, it's been just under 12 months now and she is a completely different person so much happier, has her downs still but they're minimal compared to before. The whole family have bought into the philosophy and all are much happier for it.
When I first got chronic sciatica back in 2007 I was given acupuncture on the NHS. Thought it was bollocks but was so desperate that I was willing to try anything. Couldn't believe the difference it made.
A while back when sick I drank half a bottle of Sherry and felt great afterwards. Swear it cured me. Now, it's sort of a tradition with me, whenever I'm sick I drink a bunch of Sherry. Magic healing juice. About the only time I touch the stuff. Remember many "pharma" remedies started out as natural remedies. People would use stuff to get better and pharma would look into it to see what it was that was helping. Of course some natural remedies work... Just let the doc know if taking any Incase interferes with the stuff they're prescribing.
I now take Turmeric curcumin as a natural anti inflammatory for the knee, and glucosamine sulphate as a supplement. The latter not so much 'natural' I guess, but also not paramacutical. Tried cbd a couple of times for things it's supposed to work on and it did **** all tbh. Perhaps it just isn't that useful where I tried it? Or perhaps it's just bollocks.
Exercise, sleep and diet are very much underrated by the vast majority. You get those right and your pretty much as healthy as you can be.
There are lots of ways to cure people, one that may work on one person, may not work on another. Unfortunately modern medicine got itself locked onto the idea that if one treatment works on 8 people out of 10, and a different one works on two in ten, then the first one is better, and therefore the only choice. That's starting to change, but you have to be careful, as there are a lot of quacks out there.
Luv, serious question. Have you thought about removing yourself from the equation? I suspect that may improve your wife infinitely
Got any actual Horses in it ? Remember when Van Persie used to use Horse Placenta on his injuries ? Would actually make sense tbf as placenta is loaded with stem cells and nutrients
