The harsh reality is if your players prove they can finish higher than us, bigger (or just richer) teams will circle like vultures.
I'm certainly not getting carried away ,it's just that we have over the last say 6 -7 years have been slowly progressing up the the leagues, not with any great fan fare admittley but improving as club and squad at each level, who's to say what we can or cannot achieve, I'd be more than happy just to stay up but why not dream , I've seen us at the very bottom of the leagues now I'm experiencing the highs so I can appreciate both ends of the scale .Don't forget where you were when Shankley took over 2nd div club and look what you achieved
Good signing, in my opinion. Might seem expensive but he's quality and fits right into to Rodgers' style which not many of the current midfield do and you're better off spending £15mill on a player like that, than half on players like Adam who only looked useful at a poor team. In my opinion you could still do with a good DM to cover Lucas but ahead of that I'd have Allen and Downing(backup) as the main playmaker in the middle with Gerrard and Aquilani(backup) as the more attacking in a midfield 3. Then you can stick Suarez on the left, Borini up top and then maybe someone like Moses on the right.
I'm not sure how much of Moses isn't just hype to be honest... I think we'll see another attacking signing for the right though, maybe Adam Johnson or something.
Yeah, probably a better choice. I would've said Hoilett who I rate but he's just gone to QPR. How about Nzonzi as the back up DM? I think he's quality and he's handed in a transfer request so you might be able to get him cheap.
Hmm we were linked with Exteberria who I'd prefer, if only for his fantastic name. Here's an analysis, with stats, of Allen compared to Henderson, Adam and Modric. http://www.theliverpoolword.com/201...-target-joe-allen-what-would-he-bring-to-lfc/ EDIT: Realised I hadn't left the effing link
Had the same kind of comments at the start of last season, and we landed up just 5 points off you. I have feeling that brendan will struggle, and I'll quite happily come back here at the end of the season to see where we stand.
For those who haven't seen much of Allen he starts tonight for the GB team against Brazil 7:45pm Kick Off
... In our worst season in how long? And with injuries to our best players/bizarre FA suspensions. You did do very well though, I don't grudge you that, I was glad to see your style of play reap rewards.
Don't know as I have little interest in that, but I've put a bet on so let's see. I think Brendan will struggle and laudrup won't and as its my money I think it's a good investment
In the words on the Last Mr. Bigg ( with 2 g's)... All money spend the same, all pussy feel the same, ain't no shame, playa what's my name? Just hope that laudrup doesn't run off as he has done in other clubs but I think you have a good manager and a good new player in Michu btw.
I'm not saying you won't keep rising but like I said...don't get too carried away yet as it tends to come back to bite you in the arse I hope you do keep on the up I've enjoyed seeing you play over the last few seasons, enjoyed the banter on here and love the ground/atmosphere as well. Remember even the greats don't do it overnight.
Team GB are playing awful. Every single one of them. So, if you suggest I judge Allen on this game...
Haven't you? Why do you think we bought Carroll for so much? This is a fairly new transfer policy at Liverpool. Luckily it wasn't implemented before we bought Crouch!
Speaking of special welsh people, where's matth these days? I miss his tomfoolery, the little rapscallion guttersnipe.
