Hull City caretaker manager Nicky Barmby, is set to sign a goalkeeper and defender in January. Luke Steele, who has been superb for Barnsley this season and is being touted for England, could see a deal materialise after the Oakwell club accepted an undisclosed bid from the East Yorkshire club. there is often the odd rumour that turns out to be true but as said above, a lot of whats on there is from dilusional fans posting wish lists claiming them to be from a source within their club. Craig Mackail Smith was alledgedly signing for 9 different clubs on the same day and leeds fans post evry transfer window that alan smith is returning to them, but he never does.

Luke Steele had a blinder against us earlier this season, would be a good keeper to have on the books but how much truth is in the rumour remains to be seen.

I think you hit the nail on the head. When NB became manager Mr Allam said: "We said this many weeks ago that money to Nigel would be available - a million pounds in January for the transfer window," said Tigers owner Assem Allam. "That same amount is still available for Nick." This was stated after the compensation figure was agreed with Leicester and probably with the knowledge that we should get approx £500,000 for Simpson. So if that's the case we can forget about Turner, Sharp, Madine and most of the others mentioned on here because Nick will be shopping in the bargain basement. Personally I hope he gets substantially more than that, because we have a few winnable games coming up and it will show a lack of support from the Allams if Barmby gets bugger all after maintaining our promotion push.
Luke Steele is ok by me BUT as for the rest.....NO NO NO. but may i suggest that Barmby has better quality in mind. as for Kilgallon ? Sunderland need him more than we do.
