For all the rave reviews of SWP tonight, and he was good, I thought Faurlin was the understated star of the show. His positioning and reading of the play and his touch and distribution were tremendous. As for much of last season he does everything so comfortably and is often overshadowed by the more spectacular Taarabt, who also showed some brilliant flashes of play tonight, to the point of being almost anonymous.

I feel the team is now set up to really see him flourish and I believe he will be as important a player for us as any of the big name signings. Well done Ali...<ok>

Spot on. The morons bleating for him to be dropped after the Bolton game are looking foolish imo. Was excellent at Everton, one of the better players at Wigan and superb tonight.

Faurlin was best player on the pitch tonight. He was excellent the full 90 minutes. He can tackle, great touch, short pass long ball and he covers a lot of ground.

Do remember those recent moaners. I remember a thread titled someting like 'Emperors new clothes' saying he has been found out after the Bolton game. Can't recall who started that thread or agreed with it but they do need to hang there heads in shame

Ali is sheer class - Paul Scholes without the ability to score many.
Faurlin Derry Barton looked a good midfield - admit Taraabt opened the space for SWP early on though
When we aren't being so dominant I can see Barton tucking in alongside Derry & Faurlin with SWP and maybe Mackie/Dyer making a very tight midfield hoping to score on the break.
Always knew Faurlin could do it at this standard, the premiership probably suits his style better.
We said it this time last year " Can Shaun Derry last?"

I think most will agree it won't of been me ... I said that he will be in the Argentina team soon and was laughed at. Adel is honestly and seriously a class act ... already ahead of all Prem stars at shots on goal and he was overall brilliant tonight having lost the captains armband .. we must not forget that

Did really well. It's easy to under estimate his contribution, especially with such a focus on Taarabt and now Barton.

It was 'GroveRanger' who posted the ' Emperors new clothes ' thread.

But.. hey.. we all have emotions in the heat of the moment. ( ask Mr Barton on this. )

Ali didn't put a foot wrong tonight from what I saw.
