    Amen to that.

Alfie Biggs was a terrific servant to Bristol Rovers, a prolific marksman and a great Bristolian.

    RIP Alfie.

A character, the type of which is no longer in the game.
Legend is nowadays an overused word, but Alfie
is a legend of Bristol football. Privileged to have seen him play.

excuse the invasion, but i too found it a pleasure to watch him play and his flair for scoring. after he retired he used several watering holes on or near the centre including the pub on the centre near the bottom of small street, now a wickwar brewery bub and the other place i used to see him, as i worked nearby was the market tavern at the top of the steps down to baldwin st

rest in peace blonde bombshell alfie biggs a bristol rovers goal machine!

    Good old Alfie.

A great exponent of the Rovers so called 'Long Ball' game. Not hacking it upfield as the term suggests. In the days of 2-3-5 and man marking, Alfie was brilliant at pulling defences out of position, for the ball to be chipped over the defence. Bristol greyhound Bobby Jones whistled through stranded defences into the wide open spaces. (Mind Bobby would have given Usain Bolt a run for his money over 30 yards)
