Interesting comment from Arsene: "I believe every player hates not playing but as well you have periods as a player. When a player is on a scoring moment then sometimes the flow can be disturbed. That is why I leave him in". Who would have thought that Alexis has periods.
The guy is always playing at full tilt and hardly ever lowers his intensity. So even when he's not on form, his hard work and unflappable passion, keeps him at a good level. He is the model professional. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful player. He will always be the first name on my team sheet every time.
Not really, I love Alexis as much as any Gooner, but Neymar, Suarez and Messi is as good as it gets in terms of the perfect front three, and even Alexis himself knew that and he moved straight away, but Alexis would get into every team in the world expect Barca.
He's better than Suarez. He was better than Hazard last year and should have been player of the year.
Nah, and anyway as last season proved Suarez is clearly a better fit at Barca, so Barca from their point of view made the right call to sell. Alexis had great individual moments at Barca, but he never really fitted into their system and never really formed any sort of relationship with Messi, Alexis has to be the main man like he is for Chile and Arsenal to be at his very best, at Barca there is only ever going to be one main man.
Alexi is one of the best in the world but I agree with Sanj, at the moment, the current front three are better than Alexi. On Suarez, he is playing some of the best football of his life and in the world, so Suarez is the better player. However, Sanchez is still 26 and in his second season of the Premiership, under the guidance of one of the best attacking managers in the world, Wenger. So there is every possibility that he could make it to the elite.
Exactly. Very few players would dislodge anyone from that front three. The chemistry they had in the 2nd half of last season was incredible. If Barca tighten up their defence in January, I can see them making a consecutive treble.
The fact Alexis isn't a total sh*tbag means I'd have him in my team every day of the week over Suarez.
