Both Wenger and Ferguson have a statue outside their respective stadiums. Yet look at the disparity in achievement by these managers...is this an example of the relative size/prestige of both clubs? Plus Wenger's went up a season before Ferguson...were we too quick to put a statue of Wenger up? When I started supporting Arsenal back from the age of 10 I always thought that we were up there with the best...but it looks like we are not in the same league as United or Liverpool when it comes to history and success. Don't get me wrong I love Wenger and our club...but just trying to get a sense of real perspective.
You can't compare those. Wenger does not have a massive statue outside the ground like Fergie does. His one is somewhere inside the stadium and it's not even that big. For being our most succesful manager ever he does deserve that. please log in to view this image
That really is creepy...it'd be like having a jimmy saville statue outside your ground...(I ain't making fun of what he's done) I just don't get how you build a statue of someone like that ...
Someone needs to paint on the bacon on his face. I think that's the problem, without the bacon, red nose and the FA under his thumb that statue has almost made him look human and therefore unrecognisable to the real Fergie.
