Gotta say fair play to everyone who has donated to help this guy out. Further proof i(not that it's needed after the Alder/Sweeney fund) that we look after our own. So nice to see people chipping in to help him move on with his life after this ordeal.

I've lived in Low Fell all my life until moving to Oz 3 years ago and I saw this guy wandering around the Fell all the time. Never spoke to the guy but he always seemed to be quite happy just wandering about and obviously a lot of people spoke to him whilst he was out and about.

Scum of the earth whoever it was that did this to him and I really hope they get caught by the long arm of the law, or better still some vigilante gets hold of whoever it is and straps em down and rams a red hot ****ing poker down their '3rd eye'.

Agreed. It's a very uplifting story, and I hope the fund helps the old fella find a nice place to live and be happy.

 

Like you Cronemeister, have seen the guy around Low Fell over the years.
I'd have thought there would be some talk going around by now who done it, but, nothing yesterday.
Over £200k in the pot now.

 

Aye saw that....getting close to £300k now...WOW ! Monumental effort that, and will no doubt make the rest of his life worry free.

 

I'm sure there will be someone somewhere who knows who has done this and it will only be a matter of time before it comes out..
