We don’t produce players like Thiago Xavi Iniesta because of how we recruit from grassroots We only look for players with an Natural physical advantage - which is why we keep producing the same sorts of players loads of players get missed who read the game well Tackle well Position well but are not big or - current trend - fast Very frustrating we also don’t let players express themselves They get things coached out of them It’s crazy
Keeper helped Salah there. Ran out meaning was an easier finish, just had to get it over him. Should have stayed in goal as Salah wojkd have taken a touch and narrowed his angle. Was a brilliant pass from Hendo. Outside foot perfect
Massive personal gripe if mine. Youth teams are full of quick lads. Fat lad, great ball control, exceptional range of passing, decent skill, get in goal son. lad who can run fast and kick the ball hard, up front you go lad. Really does my head in.
It’s actually written down in black and white mate all the way through the scouting levels it’s shocking they get away with it really but it’s why we will never ever produce a Xavi or Iniesta
It's difficult A few years ago my lad played a season half indoor half outdoor. The outdoor obviously favours the quick lads, kick and run football. It why England turns out loads of Henderson type players can run all day but not great technically, or fast wingers kick it then run after it types. The indoor was a different matter, close control and being able to move where much more important, some of the kids thrived for the first time. Lasted 3 months I think never to be seen again. Regardless of the level, the coaches, parents & kids want to win, so the fast lads get picked. The skillfully little lad falls by the wayside and loses interest.
