What a disgrace to my kids

I look upon the FA as a yard stick - FA cup. FA football league: a litmus paper for all that is well for not only me to watch the game, but for my nippers.

In making this decision the FA has ignored an opportunity to send the message that every child/person has agency. Instead, what they have posited is that opportunity and thereby agency belongs to a select few who can afford to disregard the interests of the majority. This goes further than football - it is about who controls how we treat each other, and indeed, how we treat the very world we live in. We are at a time when it seems likely that a continuation of current social and environmental practice could lead to complete degradation of both community and eco-system. Instead of a message which says, "lets be accountable", we get this, a statement of, "if you can afford it, do whatever the F**k you like".

Cheers, OTBC and lest this path not be one we tread.

  5. Deep...couldn't make too much sense of it though to be honest. Are you talking about QPR here? Or, have the FA been abusing kids now as well..?

Hey, chill out me ol' China. The season is over; we are Champions, you are Runners-Up and we are BOTH going into the Premiership!

Unless you were secretly hoping for a meaningless hand-over of OUR trophy, which would be a bit sad.

Read it again, sober this time. Still a bit heavy.

From my understanding of your fine rant, and correct me if I am wrong - you are disgusted that QPR have used an unauthorised agent and have been given a £800,000 fine where as Luton Town did something similer and got a load of points docked?

To be honest, as I do not have the information from both cases to hand I can not comment further but agree on the surface it appears that QPR's wealthy investors financial clout may well have saved the day - but again I can not comment for the reason previously mentioned.

If it proves, in the weeks/months to come, that the 2 cases were exactly the same then I would agree a fine was the wrong punishment and the FA will have some very serious allegations to defend themselves.

As fans, we just need to get on with our lives now and let the people who need to challenge the outcome (if there is anyone who will do it) do it, in the meantime continue to congratulate QPR for what they have done on the pitch (except they couldn't do it to us or Leeds Utd)

Fair comment Thai, though the only thing that will be remembered is that we went up as Champions :emoticon-0100-smile

Marsupial, I'll say one thing, if there was a vote for team of the year in the Football League, it'd be very close between our two teams.

    Dear all
    Apologies:
I agree in the cold light of day my rant was just that. I was, as PPNEawf said just wanting fairness. I do not begrudge the Champions QPR in any way and what has happened on the pitch warrants their position and I wish them all the best in the PL next season. I will put a self imposed ban upon myself from using the forum after spending too many beer tokens.
    Cheers one and all

Maybe it would have been different if it was about whether we got an auto spot or not, but having achieved promotion, i for one felt that QPR should keep the championship trophy as they earned it fair & square on the field. The fine was to make sure they took better care over how they went about their business. It wasnt like they were actually cheating or anything, just that they signed up a player the wrong way
