For anyone who believes Durham's stance on Hughton and NCFC is softening, I give you, from today's Daily Fail:-

that man really does produce some ****e. this is one of the worst yet.

we have to play josh murphy because we have no other fit players! would he prefer we bring in some foreign reserve who can play instead or are we being criticised for giving a bright, english talent a chance to play against manchester city where there was no pressure on him because of the score line? absolute drivel to suit an agenda

I see no problem in playing Murphy. There was little pressure and it added a positive aspect to an otherwise dismal day. Murphy himself looked very comfortable and competitive out there, IMO, and it was good experience for him. Durham takes no notice of the injury situation, of course. The man's a plank.

I'm normally the first to slate Adrian Durham but TBH I can't really disagree with much of that. As for no fit players, just what has Becchio done wrong he hasn't even been given the chance to do anything right FFS <doh>

see, when you break it down, it is very easy to see why becchio is rated as at best, out 4th choice.

van wolfswinkel - full dutch international, prolific goal scorer in the netherlands and portugal, cost £8.5m, age 24
hooper - amassed more than 80 goals in three seasons at celtic, played regularly in the champions league, cost £5.5m, age 25
elmander - over 70 caps and 20 goals for sweden, preferred partner to ibrahimovic, loan, age 32
becchio - averaged a goal every 3 games in league one and the championship for leeds, swap for steve morison, age 29

he'd be most people's fourth choice out of those people. i think he could do a job for us off the bench but i don't get to see him in training.

if durham wanted to pick on norwich over anything from saturday, he should have written about how we appeared to lack effort and how easy we made it for our world class opponents - not how throwing an 18 year old on is damaging him. i'm glad he came on - any game time for our youngsters is good as far as i'm concerned

He's made a success of being an obnoxious idiot. His opinion is no better or worse than any other fans', he simply has the advantage of a soapbox to stand on.

I wasn't suggesting that Becchio should play on the wing, I was just empasising that he hasn't been given a real chance that's all.
Thanks for yet another sanctimonious post anyway Superman <ok>
