Well we are now 18th with the two sides below us having games in hand. Don't know if this effects any votes?
Yep while QPR's is at Everton, not easy games but Norwich did just beat Arsenal so you can't rule anything out.
im surprised by the rumours that Cortese picks the team, and i dont think he deals with all transfers either. Nigel said we are to play 4-3-3, although we all know it wont work that dosen't mean that Cortese forces him to play it.
I don't think he even remotely picks the team, but I think he definitely has a large hand in transfers. I think all the domestic transfers this season, Rodriguez, Clyne, Davis and Gazzaniga were Adkins', and Cortese was out on the continent looking for some foreign players, like when we were linked with Michu, then over in Holland with Buttner, Lens, Boilesen and Yoshida, then Italy where he has his strong links he gets Gaston and eventually Boruc, and then of course his native switzerland with Mayuka. I think he gave Adkins a little kitty and told him to bring in a few players from these shores which is obviously where Nigel's expertise lies, and then he took control of the foreign transfers as obviously at this time of relative inexperience, Adkins' knowledge is limited. I'm sure Nigel was consulted, but I think the majority of the final say came from Cortese. A lot of that is intuition and limited knowledge though, so it could be completely different.
You really do want us to fail really badly don't you? You're just enjoying every moment of slaughtering us into oblivion over our start.
78% after a disappointing 4-1 defeat is pretty conclusive...probably be about 90% if we win our next home match.
We have just been promoted to the Premier League two years ahead of schedule. Did we really think that we would find this an easy ride? Many of the posters on here said at the beginning of the season that 17th place should be our target this season. In that context, we have already played some of the toughest games and we are hardly cut adrift! NC doesn't do knee jerk. I doubt he will be rushing to fire Nigel after the success of the last two seasons. speaking of Harry, he said on MOTD that Saints would do well to keep hold of Nigel for a few years as he is a "triffic" young manager. I agree. If we get the players we need in January and we are still struggling then there is an argument to be had but for now, I remember the last time we embarked on the managerial merry-go-round. No thanks!
Lol. I can see the future now: 1 - Adkins remains in charge 2 - Saints survive on goal difference 3 - gomarchin posts a humble apology 4 - No-one sees it because he is on everyone's ignore list by then 5 - The real Saints fans enjoy next season in peace.
I voted to keep NA even if we got relegated I'd keep NA on, stability and positivity. If he did leave the club only Souness or WGS would be worthy replacements IMHO. (ps what's Magilton upto, maybe he could be on standby)
I voted to stick with Nigel - at least till Christmas. If he has not got his tactics right by then - sorry to be brutal, but Nigel is likely by then to have lost the dressing room by then.
Hmmm, maybe I was a bit harsh on Adkins earlier, when I was in a foul mood. I think it was the fact that it was West Ham made it 10 times worse. Now thinking rationally, he deserves more time. However, action needs to be taken before Christmas, around November, if this continues.
Are you not forgetting that he left us for Pompey after we got relegated? It's like Wenger walking out on Arsenal for Spurs, relegating Spurs and then going back to Arsenal. I bet many Spurs fans would feel the same way as many of us do about Redknapp if that had happened.
