I've heard from a few people that he left the training ground in tears ? Anyone got anything on this ?
I've also been reading the comments suggesting this, It wouldn't surprise me if so. He truly loved his job.
The man loved our club, that was evident. This new guy won't give a toss, especially not right away. It makes me sad the way this happened, I feel for Nigel more than anything. Great man great manager great tactician great motivator great human being. Good luck Nigel, Cortese has completely lost it.
Goes with this? Was Adkins even told when news started leaking out? The BBC don't think so, and I think that's a disgusting way to treat him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21084754
Goes with the lack of respect shown on the os where his sacking was only a tiny part of the new manager article...
I'm sure I speak for almost every Saints fan when I say I'm devastated. What is the point of getting rid of the man who got us promoted two seasons in a row and was masterminding us clear of the relegation zone? Wherever Nigel ends up - and I'm pretty sure he won't be out of work long - I hope that he does well and wish him all the success in the future.
Being reported that Adkins has told a reporter that he found out watching Sky Sports News...? Also heard he went to the ground to say goodbye and thank you to canteen staff and the like and was turned away.
That is just out of order if true. Epitomises the brilliance of adkins that he would try do such a thing.
I'm not sure on that. I think there are a lot of angry people out there who would like to tarnish Cortese's name even more so than he has done himself today, and as such have started reasonably believable malicious rumours.
Cant see that myself i think they are just playing it up a bit, however if it is then cortese can go **** himself
I'm sure we will never know if that is true. All we can do is hope it is'nt, truly disgusting if it is found to be true.
Keep imagining what it will be like for him tomorrow - waking up, positive as ever, but not going into work as usual, to the place he loved, the team he built, the challenge he relished. One thing's for certain, though: he'll be positive. New opportunities. Wonder if Sun Tzu ever got sacked? Another thing is certain - he won't have too much time to mope: his phone will be ringing off the hook. We (as a team, as fans, as a club who have reached the end of innocence) will suffer way more than he does, I reckon.
Us as fans will undoubtably suffer, I fear we will be made to pay for Nicola Cortese's irrational behaviour. I can't think of anything i wont miss about Nigel.
