    Nice to see us practicing penalties, even if they do go at least 10 feet over the bar and that we are unlikely ever to be awarded one anyway.

    My read on it is that the stage is set, if Bale stays. Americans may be more shameless front runners than any people in the world other than the French. But they're more obsessed with individual players than with teams. One of the three major networks featuring the PL will have Americans flocking to support the team with the best player.

    How many, and how much that support will help us in the long run is TBD. But there's no doubt in my mind Spurs will have far more American fans at the end of the year if they keep Bale.
