First off, i know he has been mentioned a lot on here but i wanted to know why so many negative responses to the prospect of him signing..

I can see the point of view that he could upset the dressing room, however people said that about HBA and he seems to be a similar personality, in the right environment given some freedom he can be world class..

I have also heard people compare him to routledge saying he has found his level at the championship.. this is bollox, this kid is a special talent, and i feel that if we let him slip a genuine chance to sign him it could be a massive error

Imagine this for next season, with not much spending we could have an attacking team like this

    Harps

    Simmo Willo Collo Jose
    -----Tiote---Barton---
    ---------HBA
    Taarabt------------Jonas
    -------Elmander/(other new forward)

i can understand some of the genuine concerns with him, but if ive ever seen a talent worth the risk then this is it.. have a watch

You missed out Nolan from that team...

And a NO for Taarabt, he's useless.

    Elmander <doh>

This shows your intent personally I like to feel that we are a big enough club to get a better striker than Johan Elmander as for Taarabt I think he might be an OK premier league player but once again I'd like to feel we can do better

He has a bad temper. He wants the ball too much and if he doesn't get it he will moan and moan. I feel he would clash with the team and that could damage the team spirit.

The thing about taraabt is at QPR the whole squad is revolved around how he plays, whenever i see him play most of the time he seems to wants to go it alone. If we did sign him i would want to see him passing the ball around alot more. I do agree with you tho he is extremely talented tho but i wouldnt want to see a chance off the team spirit in the dressing room being damaged with the chance of him coming here :/

Greedy on the ball, bad attitide, plays Ben Arfa's position (attacking midfield) and would be overpriced. Didnt make it at Spurs in the PL either.

Things his own manager has said about him makes him seem a risky player to sign. Although that might be why Warnock is saying it, sneaky.

He'd be expensive, and isn't really a player we need. I'd rather play Ben Arfa and put the Taarabt money towards a striker.

He seems to be a bit of an in and out player. Plays when he feels like it. Haven't been too impressed with him when I've seen him so it's a no from me.

im being realistic... all those people who think we are spending 35 million and getting 5 class players are wrong... i think we will spend a bit on a decent striker, but i think we could do alot worse that getting elmander on a free as a second choice... i put him in there to show what team we could have with only 9 million investment...

i hate to say it, but by the time next season comes around i think there will be a few who wish we had signed elmander on a free... dont be surprised to see carlton cole plying the black and white next season, thats all im saying... most of the players being mentioned will go somehwere else cos we rnt the only club looking and we dont pay good wages

If I'm ever at the stage where I wish we'd signed Elmander and Carlton Cole is up front I'm denouncing my support <laugh>

Forget that southerngeordie, Enrique will be sold in the summer and Barton will probably leave as well. Shame for you lot as they are 2 very good players

Right I see what you are saying, But Taarabt won't stay wide, he likes to drift. Ben Arfa and Taarabt will be in each others' way. Add that to Jonas cutting inside and it's all too crowded. Also who would they play through balls to? The big slow Elmander? Would hate to sign him.

I think it's a bit harsh everyone saying he failed and couldn't cut it at Spurs.

Redknapp, on more than one occasion came out and said he was the most talented player at the club, and some of the things he would see him do in training were quite extraordinary.

Maybe Spurs was a step too soon for him? He was only 18 at the time and had just left his native France. I can't for the life of me see him coming to the PL next season and "failing" again. There's players with 1/10 of the natural talent that he has that have played their whole career in the PL. Personally, I'd love to see him at United and made an article about it awhile back on 606. Not entirely sure what his favorite position is, whether it's off the front man in the hole, wide left or just left to roam.

He does seem a bit selfish and arrogant, but so was Cantona. Ronaldo has a selfish and arrogant streak to him. As long as you don't have a team filled to the brim with players like this, then it's probably worth the risk knowing the magic that they can create.

Like I said, I'd love to see him at Old Trafford. I wouldn't let an apparent failure at Spurs deter bringing him here. Some of the football I've seen him play this season belongs at the very top of the game, and at 21 he's only going to get better.

Head and shoulders above every other player in the Championship, and that includes Bellamy and Bothroyd.
