I see Flores said we wouldn't be signing him but only because we have a full squad - didn't rule out a move in January.

Clearly a very talented player who has lost his way and maybe love for the game..

Probably a no really as he'd expect to start and probably demand a fair whack wages wise.

Hmmmmm. The man obviously has issues. Doubt we could afford him either on or off the pitch. Just no.

Seems like he would need a sign from God:

Emmanuel Adebayor's Premier League return complicated by Tottenham still paying his wages
Exclusive: Striker still receives £100,000-a-week from Spurs and any potential suitor will need to negotiate with chairman Daniel Levy

Emmanuel Adebayor's attempt to re-start his Premier League career is being threatened by the fact he is still being paid his full £100,000-a-week Tottenham Hotspur wages.

Despite leaving White Hart Lane in September, Adebayor is being paid in full by Spurs until he finds a new club or for the duration of his old contract that would have expired at the end of this season under the terms of his exit.

Incredibly, that means the striker remains Tottenham’s highest earner, on more than double what Harry Kane currently pockets, even though he is no longer contracted to the club.

Premier League clubs interested in signing Adebayor must negotiate with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy over how much of his £100,000-a-week salary they will fund until next summer.

Emmanuel Adebayor was at Spurs between 2011 and 2015

Watford have so far shown the strongest interest in Adebayor, holding talks with his representatives and inviting him to train at the club on November 1, but the 31-year-old opted to stay in Togo for an extra month.

Adebayor has now returned to England to search for a new club. Chelsea is his preferred destination, but Watford could quickly resume talks with a view to getting him in for training as soon as possible.

Manager Quique Sanchez Flores is keen to sign Adebayor and boost his striking options, but it remains to be seen how much Watford would be prepared to pay of Adebayor’s wages, or whether a deal can be struck with Levy over which club pays the higher percentage.

Negotiations with Levy could prove even more problematic for Chelsea, whose manager Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Adebayor who he had on loan at Real Madrid.

    Chelsea is Adebayor's preferred destination

Chelsea are currently assessing their potential January transfer targets and Adebayor would represent a short-term option as back-up for Diego Costa.

But Chelsea do not enjoy a good relationship with Spurs and Levy would almost certainly demand that the Blues took over Adebayor’s wages in full for him to play out the season at Stamford Bridge.

Adebayor’s lack of formal training would also be a problem for Chelsea, as it would West Ham United who he has twice nearly joined in the past 12 months.

West Ham may be forced into the January transfer market because Diafra Sakho is facing a long lay-off with a thigh injury, but do not have many options with no transfer funds available and no space for another domestic loan.

Any team wanting to sign Adebayor will have to negotiate with Daniel Levy

Adebayor saw a loan move to West Ham blocked by Levy in the last January window and held negotiations with the club over the summer, when he was told he would be required to have eight weeks of training under his belt to be seriously considered in the New Year.

Having stayed in Togo until December, Adebayor is already a full month behind the schedule the Hammers set him and attempts to convince clubs that he has been working hard on his fitness are at odds with a series of pictures posted on Instagram showing him relaxing and posing with cars.

There have been questions raised over whether or not Adebayor still has the hunger and desire to play top-flight football, following a summer saga of failed moves and the revelation that he is still being paid in full by Tottenham.

As revealed by Telegraph Sport at the time, Adebayor had been close to joining Aston Villa at the end of July, but stunned Villa officials when, having completed a medical and posed for pictures in the club’s shirt, he stalled on the deal by claiming that he wanted a sign from God that it would be the correct move.

Adebayor then consulted his pastor over the prospect of moving to the Midlands before finally deciding against the switch, much to the frustration of former Villa manager Tim Sherwood.

West Ham then made Adebayor an offer to move to Upton Park on loan late in the summer transfer window, but he did not turn up for a scheduled medical, leaving Hammers and Spurs officials in the dark over his whereabouts, and requested more time to think about the switch.

By the time Adebayor finally agreed to meet with West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, the Hammers were already finalising their second Premier League loan in the form of Victor Moses from Chelsea.

.... seems like a lot of ifs and buts....

Even allowing for the fact that he has a reputation for being difficult, the point here is that you couldn't do his job, probably even for a single day.

You would need to borrow or rent a Bentley (or whatever it is he drives) to do that - otherwise they wouldn't let you in through the gates........

Maybe borrow superhorns' motor as he is seemingly so much richer than the rest of us on here?

Would you like the 4x4 or the sports car?

No problem, as long as one of you urchins cleans it inside and out. They are likely to be a bit messy following my country pursuits.
