Ok, I've added the last one myself, but how would people feel if we were to sign any of these strikers, who we've been linked with but who are also disliked by most Spurs fans? The suggestion in the rumour mill is that they're all available relatively cheaply, but our wage limits would probably be a problem. Should we take a risk, would they actually join and would anyone be really put of by any of them if they did?
Berbatov - Yes, but he owes us an apology Adebayor - No, he's got an ego Bellamy - No, we have enough impact subs as it is
Personally i think we need to show greater ambition than those suggestions PNP Berbatov - i certainly wouldn't welcome him back with a hug, he treated us like sh*t, i also dont think he is the player we remember, seems to have slowed down a lot and lost a bit of strength, and im never in favor of signing back old players yet again...Keane, Defoe...Chimbonda Adebayor - I would have loved him to have joined us in January, but only because we were desperate for ANY striker to come in and mix it up a bit...but i wouldn't want him now, hopefully things are more organized this transfer window and we can do better than him Bellamy - Again, getting on a bit and doesn't score enough goals Sorry to be so depressing PNP
Bellamy hasn't played as a striker for a few seasons now, has longterm injury problems and isn't the player he was when City beat us to signing him. Berbatov, quality player but he ****ed us over. I'd still like him back though. Adebayor would be prolific for us. Big, fast, strong and if he improves his finishing a bit more we could have a world class striker. My only reservation is that he's a bit of journeyman, one great season and he'll probably be off to a bigger club or holding us to ransom over his wages.
Berbatov only, for me. I like Adebayor, but he's a moody, arrogant git. If he's not picked for every game, then he'll go into a sulk. Bellamy - again, potential problems. O.k when he's behaving himself, but has the propensity to behave like a brainless Chav.
All 3 of them have questionable attitudes, that's probably the reason they are all available this summer.
Berbatov - yes (just) but I wouldn't expect to get the player we sold Man Utd. I think he was at his peak then and had formed a great understanding with his strike partner. With him and Keane the whole was greater than the sum of the parts. Adebayor - my gooner mates don't rate him much. I think we have a wonky view of him cos he always scores against us. Dodgy attitude by the looks of things too. Too risky. Bellamy - no need. If we got rid of Keane and got him in I guess that would be a net gain but really, with a whole summer ahead, I'd hope for someone higher quality/younger/cheaper/less of a tosser. We need a striker or two who would make it in a Man Utd or a Chelsea team. That rules out all three other than Berbatov in my opinion. But, being greedy, I'd want even better than him to be honest.
Arsenal fans never rate players that ask to leave their team. They always claim that nobody goes on to better things too, which is a blatant lie.
CB - too old, injury prone, getting slower (his main threat), and has already agreed to stay another season at Cardiff I believe...good! Berb - No, lazy...imagine him and Pav! Adebayor - I actually think he'd suit our style to a tee, loves crosses and set pieces, and holds it up well and most importantly, PL experience. Also, at 27/8, just hitting his peak.
On Adebayors attitude, I think the 'laid back approach as long as you do your work' under Harry would suit him too. Doesn't like Arsenal either...first celebration for City!
If we bought Berbatov we would still need another striker IMO. Adebayor would probably slot more easily into the team atm. Bellamy Hmmm! same as Berbatov.
Would take Adebayor in a heartbeat but wages would be a serious problem he won't drop from 220 to 75 grand no matter how big the signing fee
Yes to the strikers, no to Bellamy. Some may call him a striker, I prefer to call him a waste of space and money He's not shone at Cardiff. If you can't shine ina club that's in the league below, why would you be any good at all in Europe? The only reason he scored for City is becuase he had some of the best players in the world feeding him balls that 11 year olds would score from
