What has happened to Adam turning the away end into a singing section. Was it always a non starter re john cooper .the old bill .health and safety .
AP still plans to move the away fans and to try and move fans into the North, but it's not happening this season, due to all three parties you've mentioned. I understand there will be some other changes though, particularly the build up ahead of kick off.
Think its more to do with possible ground owning and therefore extentions and having to re do it all again.
I also understand that this will be the case, mainly because the club confirmed it on their Facebook page. I'm just hoping it doesn't mean even more spoon feeding, the song before kick off is enough.
It was said on another thread about the problems though. Have a look at the KC from overhead on google maps. The Old Bill want to keep the fans separate, that much is obvious. There are three approaches to the stadium for the home fans. The Anlaby Road side of West Park, which comes out right by the Stadium main entrance on the West Stand; The fairground side of West Park, which comes out onto the North Stand; and the Bridge over the railway lines which comes out by the East Stand. The only approach for the away fans is gated off, and it sits between those last two approaches, coming out onto the North-East corner. There is nowhere else in the North, South or West Stand where they could be housed, and have an isolated section outside of the ground. In theory, the current away section could be moved round to the East giving them entrances 1-5, if just to stop the away fans getting a full goal end. But that would mean giving the away fans sections like E1 and E2, which would probably be about as popular as Jim Davidson at a Soweto wedding. Even if that was accepted, I'm not sure the east stand, having no internal roof could be split between E2 and E3 as there are no pillars, supports or other natural points where a barricade could be set up, so that would instantly make it a no go. I think most people especially at the club want the away fans moving, just not sure it's architecturally possible.
I can't remember it word for word, it was a response to a query, very vague, just something about changing the pre-match build up.
Its a pity we could not do what the crystal palace fans did and use one of the websites Holmesdale Fanatics to start something special.Thought there support was great and its just not away games.http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=110895&page=1
"........particularly the build up ahead of kick off." - Oh no I sense flags and crass American style dancing and jumping!!!!
More or less yes only they did something about it not wait for the club to do something.Just reminded me of the old kempton boys that use to meet up in tuns before the game make up some songs pissed go to the game and by half time everyone in kempton was singing.
is that not acheiveable for us? Used to love far side of kempton all the singing miss those days. If that North stand got handed to us, and made unreserved then you'd have your atmosphere back
Agree said in past threads about brininging back the unreserved seat/standing .I stand back row e7 and when i have started a song off you might get 10/20 join in then just dies a death its like if e1 or e2 have not started the singing off no one joins in.
KC was built in the wrong place from the off, Priory Sidings was the place it should have been, better access all round.
Ack, that music just before kick off is ****ing appaling. I cringe at it, my brother is in stitches. It goes from German Homosexual discoteque 3000 to some kind of odd wooping noise. Then people start clapping as if they are watching a Bruce Forysth special. It is the LAMEST thing I've heard. How about something that actually gets the fans going?
