Been linked with him again - I remember us being linked with him last year. Is a 30 goal a season striker in League 2 - are we too much of a step up?
On FoxesTalk, Gally's father in-law has said the Derbyshire deal isn't happening and that Liamlcfc guy has been told he's talking to Forest. Fourth_Official has also said he's at Forest now so that one looks dead.
I thought Sven thought he was called 'Adam La Zonza' and had never heard of him He's been cracking in League 2, but to expect him to jump 2 divisions and be as good is unrealistic. He's always looked like a lower league striker to me - short and stocky, good finisher though.
He could be a Beckford? He jumped up from league 1 to the Prem and was Everton's top scorer last season As long as we don't pay over 500k for him then its a good deal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgcVAOlFCvg I think he is better than fryatt. looks faster and can score one on one.
If we get him for 500K and he flops we could easily recoup 500K selling to one of the bigger clubs in league 1
Beckford always looked to have more class (not as a person obviously) than most successful lower league strikers. He might well be a bargain at 500K but it would be a risk to pin our hopes on him without getting someone else in. And like most of the other strikers we've been linked with (Maynard aside) he looks like a striker who'd prefer to play off a big man - a system Sven doesn't seem to want to go with currently (and I am in agreement about that). As I said though I'm pretty sure Sven isn't interested, he was asked about him and he pretended to have heard of him and claimed he was on a 'very long list', that's where thiss article has come from.
Charlton, Wednesday, United, Preston and Huddersfield would all have a decent amount of money to spend in that league

A poacher is a poacher, he might not have no ball control, but nor did jimmy greaves but dont think he did to bad if i remember right! if he gets the chances can he put the ball in the net? i can remember fyratt missing far to many for my liking, tonight will tell if he could do a job for us at the right price or not.
I think tonight will be Le Fondre chances to impress Sven. Hopefully he does well and Sven signs him and Maynard
That's another thing though, there are strikers who take chances, and then there are strikers who make and take chances. The point being that as we haven't invested in a winger, a-sprint-to-the-goal-line-and-get-an-inviting-cross-in job, we need a striker to do more than just be in the right place at the right time. The system we are playing requires a bit more than poaching - see Nugent struggling against Coventry, see Fryatt when he played in the centre without Howard, etc. This is why I have stressed over the type of striker we are after, not just the quality. In fairness to Le Fondre he looks a bit more than just a poacher, the question is whether he can do it at a higher level.
Theres only 1 way to find out FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! No wait thats wrong Unless someone gives him a chance you will never find out. Over the years we have signed people from lower leagues in Hume and Fryatt and they have been miles better then some of the players we have signed from the prem. Campbell, Cort, John, Hammond to name a few
True, I'm not saying it's impossible for him to be successful at a higher level, it's just risky to put all your hopes on them doing so. Sven doesn't know the lower leagues like O'Neill or Pearson either.
