I know it's early days for all this, but BBC says he has not renewed his contract and that Reading are perhaps skint. Would be nice if we could not leave things to the very last minute again.
He's in his prime at 27 and he knows where the goal is. He wouldn't be relatively expensive either. Yes.
I don't see him playing as a lone striker and unless there's a huge overhaul we won't have the players for a 4-4-2. Plus he's a complete and utter ****. Saying that, a great option to nick a goal or, more likely, dive for a penalty in the last minute. If we can get Johnson and Zamora out (presumably both to be released) then wouldn't be a bad option.
We clearly need to strengthen with BZ, AJ likely gone in the summer so will need at least 2 additional strikers so definitely a yes for the Champ, not so sure for the Prem.
Isn't he a porky goal hanger? I thought the criticism of him was that he does absolutely nothing except pinch goals, which may not be a bad thing.
Adam Le Fondre Anyone? Sounds like a French chef, can he cook? If not, can he bang in goals? A pastry chef and a goal scorer ............. he might just become a fan favorite. Garcon!
A couple of my friends are Reading fans and they say Le Fondre blows hot and cold frequently. He also seems ineffective from the start, but coming off the bench he's very good against a tiring defence.
15 goals from 27 starts (12 sub apperances) suggests he can do the business in the Champ. So IMO, if we fail to win promotion he'd be relatively inexpensive (And under 30!) Or possibly a good option to come off the bench in the Prem.
is this a potentail new transfer policy? Looking to sign someone under 30 years of age THAT can score goals.
