When they sign on the dotted line they are so full of confidence that they don't consider they will be sitting on the bench. Probably they think they will be a regular in the side. I am also sure that is also what the people conducting the negotiations make them believe as well. Oh and the other reason is something many of us have no idea of, it's called money.
