if Johnson starts to realize his undoubted potential, then we may see the last of a certain anti Jonno poster on here....win win situation
Whats your problem because i say it as it is, does not alter the fact he has been poor for the last eighteen months , he played very well after coming on last night and i applaud his efforts for that ,if you have been happy with him up until now fair dos to you ,this forum is for all views not just the ones which fall in line with yours, if adam johnson plays like that in the remaining games fantastic, lets hope so before its too late . If you want me to post just what you want to hear , tough titty
There was a Man City fan on these boards just after we purchased the lad. Whilst he admitted he had talent, all too often he just wasn't 'in' games, or something to that effect. I'd read the same in one of the online journo's when I first heard he was on our radar (I also wondered why, if that good, we were getting him for just 10m?). Then again, you don't get bought by Manchester City or get to don an England shirt a few times unless you can play decent footy.
AJ provided the thing we've been missing all season, someone who run at defenders and penetrates the final 3rd. Now he's shown if I were Gus i'd be telling him to maintain it or you're off. It's what we signed him for and seen it so little.
exactly, no more to be said ,lets hope and pray he does just that ,and i think that gus must have done this with him .
He's so ****ing talented. Why isn't he putting us in the possession where we're struggling to fend of interest? What I saw last night is what should be keeping us up. AJ can save us, he just needs to believe he can. then show some consistency.
Cattermole kept him quiet the entire game - never committed, never gave him a leg to fall over, just forced him to make uncomfortable decisions and down blind alleys. Catts was excellent last night. By the way terry - complaining about 7 injuries - your team last night: De Gea Rafael - Vidic - Evans - Evra (near as damn it fiirst choice defence) Valencia - Giggs - Carrick - Cleverly - Januzaj - I'd say, other than Giggs, this is a pretty good midfield Welbeck - Not a bad striker. People like RVP and Rooney would definitely make a big difference but who else in your squad would be played? Ferdinand? he's slower than me now and certainly isn't a regular 1st teamer. This team should be good enough to beat someone bottom of the league but you were toothless up front - Cattermole was the reason Januzaj was ineffective and this nullified creation for Welbeck - Giggs was deep but when he got forward he was your most creative player (prior to Fletcher coming on). Just my opinion though - but I can;t see 7 injured players for you lot that would all be better than what played last night (That's what talk****e were saying last night) Re Johnson - everyone saying how he was awesome and ran at players etc. He had barracking from only one set of fans and complete support from the other - this would've made a massive difference. Every Sunderland fan in the stadium was behind him last night - whereas the more vocal among us get on his back after one or two mistakes (as they do Cattermole - christ, the lad behind me blamed Cattermole when Ki lost the ball last night!!)
I've noticed, Terry, you guys are away at Chelsea on the Sunday I was thinking (hoping!) that RVP and Rooney both played the full 90 vs Chelsea leaving them more tired when it comes to playing us. Especially as both (RVP in particular) will be short of match fitness
