Why no Adam Johnson in this squad. He would have had more chance of coming on and scoring or creating a goal as an impact sub than any one in that squad. Answer he plays for us, same as Judes last time & Phillips & even Cloughie. I dont support England as they dont reprosent me

The English FA are a little FIFA

    Bigoted, greedy, amateur and inept.

But so are MP's, teachers, royalty and me.

Adam Johnson wouldn't have changed a thing in this World Cup. Some people are so deluded.

How can you be so sure?

There are probably quite a few players left behind, that may (or may not) have had an effect on how the games went.

We are screaming for a decent impact sub. Johnson has proven he is that everywhere he has gone. More goals and assists than any other winger this season (amongst the English at least) and still doesn't get picked. ****.

Would have rather had Johnson in the squad than generic players like Wilshire Lallana Wellback ..who basically all do the same.

The sad thing is, the back 4 pretty much pick themselves, there's no one else. And, the other sad thing is, they're ordinary at best.

Really?? I agree with Wilshere but to compare Welbeck and Lallana these two players are of a much higher calibre than Johnson. Now I love Johnson to bits but he only had a purple patch in January and when he does start for Sunderland he is generally subbed.

I think some people really need to get a grip.

Spot on. John Terry and Ashley Cole in particular, two experienced, world class defenders. Cole would never have got bullied by the Italian wingers, and Terry/Cahill partnership wouldn't have been opened up at will by the likes of Suarez. Jagielka simply isn't a natural successor to Terry/Rio, he's a stop gap only.

Johnson for me wouldn't have changed a thing, the wide system we play isn't working, wingers are being over used and making us predictable.

Hodgson desperately needs to drop Sterling, Welbeck and Henderson and play a fluid passing game with Barkley, Lallana and Wilshere in there instead, not so we can qualify but for those poor fans that have paid through the nose to get to Brazil and have so far been served the most predictable, awful football I've seen from any team at the World Cup.

Rubbish - I rate Lallana but Johnson is a better footballer than Welbeck. Better passing, crossing, shooting (Welbeck had 2 assists and 9 goals this season - Johnson had 6 and 10).

I was shouting the same thing, no disrespect to welbeck or indeed Rooney playing wing first game, round pegs in round holes, Johnson fits it not just as sub, over those in that position starter for me.

In saying that thought lallana looked canny when he came on.

Not enough options and jonno should've been one

Problem with this Terry is that Gerrard can;t play without Henderson doing the leg work - they work well together at Liverpool and that's why they're at the WC - I think Wilshere is OK but nothing flash - occasional glimpses are not enough. Gerrard was a big problem last night - everything stopped or went wrong when the ball went to him - because he hasn't got the Suarez etc. playing around him and is playing ins a different style for England, he can't play the game he does at Liverpool - can't adapt - time to put him "out to stud" I think

10 actually, in 36 games, mostly subs appearances. Johnson hit 10 in 45, mostly starts.

Totally different types of players mind. The only person I'd draw comparisons with Johnson on is Milner, who's not had a game and in all fairness offers more versatility.

Hodgson has over looked Lampard twice when we needed goals, probably the coolest head in the squad. Top management at it's very best.

If that's the case then drop them both, but I'd keep Gerrard for the range he can get into his passes and his experience. Wilshere's low centre of gravity and his balance works well in a fluid system, plus he's a top reader of the game. His distribution isn't great but the other players make up for that. I think Henderson will only get better but we have to try something different for the fans, and I can't see captain fantastic getting dropped.

It's all academic anyhow, Hodgson will start the same 11 again no doubt, total idiot.

It is all academic mate - sadly we will not change the managers ways - I still, to this day, think if Hodgson had picked that squad for the March friendly based entirely on form (and Adam Johnson had played) he'd have finished the season very well - he seemed to lose his impetus when Hodgson said "**** you I don't care about form". He's been better than Townsend who definitley would've got into the side ahead of him which says it all. And, to be fair, me using those stats doesn't really say much as Lambert has a lot of assists this season doesn't he and he's dog ****e!

Hodgson's showing the same cowardice that the rest of them post-Bobby Robson have shown. A flat out refusal to leave out the big names to accommodate players in form. In his pathetic old swamp of a brain, he probably thinks he has done this by leaving Terry and Cole out, the two players we have needed most in our opening fixtures... well done Roy!

I dunno Marcus the same old debates happen after every big tourney England are involved in. I don't know why I even let it frustrate me nowadays, I should just accept it I suppose.
