His loan move to Swindon seems to be going very well: Adam El Abd has played a key role in Swindon Town’s recent change in fortunes says chairman Lee Power. The Bristol City loanee has been an ever present in the side since his arrival prior to the home clash with Peterborough. With more than 300 league games under his belt and three years on the next oldest player in the squad, Wes Thomas, his experience has proved vital in a young side. The 31-year-old has developed a good relationship with Raphael Branco at the heart of the Town defence and Power is hoping that he can broker a deal with City chairman Steve Lansdown to extend his stay past his current January date. “Adam has been fantastic since he has been at the club,” Power told BBC Wiltshire. “Not just his performances but off the pitch he is a real leader and real strong personality and has really helped the boys through these difficult times. http://www.swindonadvertiser.co.uk/sport/swindon_town_2014/14140540.One_El_of_a_player/ Maybe they will make a bid in January??
Does make you wonder what was going on down the Gate.....rave reviews from the BHA fans when we signed him, rave reviews at Swindle......yet was just cast aside at City??
I have always questioned what the hell is going on down at Ashton Gate and my belief that there is something evil and soul destroying happening behind the scenes still remains. Too much lack of communication, decisions that make you question the overall well being of the club and apparent lack of funds to sustain the challenge we worked so hard to achieve with last season leave me skeptical. On the managerial front our record is less than desirable and if someone decides to pull the plug then I think it will be League One next season for us again. Watching the matches on the telly over the weekend and seeing so many ex-City players performing well begged the question as to why none of these players wanted to make playing in BS3 a lifetime career move? How many players have arrived on our doorstep with an attitude problem or a seeming inability, or desire ,to play the game at the same level as with their previous clubs? When you look back at the problem areas, and there are many that have plagued Bristol City over the years doesn't it make you wonder what is going on behind the closed front doors? Excuse me but it is Monday moaning time.
If your are classing, Skuse, Gerking and Pitman in that lot I don't think any of them actually wanted to leave us.
I understand your comments ROD and with you being closer to the day to day happenings down at Ashton Gate it makes your information source way better than mine. So if they didn't want to leave then someone else made the decision for them and that is part of my concerns over bad decisions that might have changed our course for no apparent reason. Who was ultimately responsible for making those decisions and what were the reasons, other than the usual FFP restrictions? So which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Skuse was financial, I believe we couldn't match money due to going down that season. Pitman was a balls up on our part and left him to rot in the reserves I think it was about his attitude with McInnes. Gerkin we just didn't play him he kept David James out towards the end of one season then we got Tom Heaton in the closed season so he left season after also part of the reshuffle to free up wages. But none of them spoke out of term like they wanted to escape bad judgement on one and financial on the others.
