I don’t think it matters how the opposition set up. If we ping the ball around how we have tonight we will break down any defence at this level and once they’ve conceded, they have to come and have a go at us or they are guaranteed zero points.
Just watched the replay. An excellent result although not an excellent game. We just have to keep getting our results right and we'll see where that has us finish. At the moment we are the third most consistent team in the league so I would have confidence going into the play offs should that be where we end up.
Another convincing performance, impressed by Jackson, Louongo, Woolfie, Broadhead and we mixed it up well. Keep doing our business and very confident about the play-offs if thats where we end up. Plymouth penalty a total shocker it seems.
While it is a bit frustrating seeing we havent gained much on Plymouth after this great run of wins, it is worth recalling that a few weeks ago, we were 10 pts behind and worse GD. Now we are 5 and excellent GD. Both Plymouth and Bolton have wobbled, and the 2 inform teams are Ipswich and Barnsley. If we beat Bolton and Barnsley do a job on Plymouth, then we are in with a shout. If that 5 point gap erodes to 3 or 2 on Saturday then the pressure ratchets on Plymouth. And Saturday is my birthday so we will be striking lucky! With our players in peak form and terrificly confident forward line, then if we do go to the play-offs in good form, then we will be fine.
Wow !! Unbelievable gaffer! Had seen quite a few Derby fans moaning about the penalty, now I can see why.
He got the BAFTA award for penalty play acting! What is so bad is they have robbed another team of crucial points. I admire no nonsense refs who go straight in and give a yellow!
Can see why that pen is given. The defender has mistimed his tackle and got nowhere near the ball and very close to making contact. I think there might even be the slightest of contact. The reaction doesn’t look natural but I had to watch it four or five times back to be sure it shouldn’t have been a pen. The ref can’t necessarily tell how thick the contact is and has no VAR but it’s not one of those absolute howlers.
I think there should be retrospective action for diving in the box of a one game suspension for obvious cases. Even if this one didn’t get punished it would make players think twice.
