I was looking at the football scores tonight and noticed that our next apponents match had been abandoned after 39 minutes against Tranmere due to serious injury. Took a bit of finding but the news is that one of their players Tom Bender has suffered a broken neck. If that is the case then that is a tragedy. I hope it isn't true but it seems it might well be the case and if so my best wishes go out to him and his football club.
Up late tonight, seems those original stories are wrong, thankfully, and it's a case of severe concussion. Nevertheless, a close call and best wishes to him, his family & friends and his club.
That is a relief then. Apparently he was motionless on the pitch for half an hour which maybe led to the first reports.
