We make Luton look as if they are at the top end of the table, when they are in the relegation zone. They have only won 2 games at home this season, and had not won in 5 prior to tonight. We lost the game. We lost Gallagher to his 5th booking. Played as if he wanted to be back at Chelsea; missing Cullen who makes him look better player than he actually is. We played without any effort. GK had an absolute nightmare. Bowyer has lost the dressing room. Time for him to move on The excuse regarding injuries no longer holds up. On a good day, we should beat Luton out of sight, second string or not Truth is, we are an absolute shambles in every respect, destined for relegation and beyond.

That's the first call for Lee Bowyer to go that I've heard this season. A bit premature I think, but no denying the heart-felt pain being expressed. I did start a 'Lee Bowyer sacking' thread on here about a year ago. It's probably down on page 15 or somewhere like that. On one level, it's not Bowyer's fault that his squad is absolutely shredded by injuries. But LB decided he could work within the restrictions Duchatelet has put on him, so in that sense he is at least partly responsible for the weakness (lack of depth) of Charlton's squad this season. No coincidence that we haven't heard anything from Bowyer lately about what a nice guy Roland is.
Bowyer is Duchatelet’s 11th manager in 5 years, and by far the best. We are lucky to have him. We are not lucky to have this demented prick of an owner. No manager- even Fergie - could succeed under him. The current form has nothing to do with the manager.
I dislike attacking people normally but this pissed me off - you’re a moron. What else can bowyer do with the injuries we have? Our midfield was so porous because we had so few senior players. The fault lies with Duchatelet for leaving us with cripples
But only one place below our target of 21st. Apparently a lot of fans will be happy if and when we finish there in May. So presumably the sooner we get to 21st place, the happier they will be. Indeed, it's probably good for the Club I can think of a couple of people (one of them Belgian) who would doubtless agree. Darren Bent would not be one of them, but his views are only fit to be laughed at, so we are told.
You do enjoy this little line @lardiman ...what we are saying is that given our dire ownership circumstances, staying up this season would be a massive achievement. Give me the Sultan of Brunei as Charlton owner, and I will demand promotion from Bowyer.
Are you having a laugh? Weve only got 2 fit strikers and only 3 fit midfields. Was in the pub before the game and said to him you seen the team. No he said , but started naming the line up. Youve seen the team i said. He then named 10 of the 11 saying its got to be the line up because THERE IS F@CKING NO ONE ELSE. No one else weve got to play a 34 yr old every game, weve HAD to recall a player from a non league team to start against a championship team. And above all this we are still over achieving. Not one time this season has any other team taken the p!ss out of us.
Win a football match Watch the game against Forest at home this season. We closed players down did not give them any time on the ball. We were brilliant. Last night was the exact opposite; the Luton midfield had time to make a cup of tea before making a pass. No interest from our players whatsoever. Terrible showing, should be ashamed, and l hope they have been told so by the management.
I can understand where you're coming from Royston, but I must disagree. And Roland is more than rich enough. 21st place this season is not the worst scenario (obviously that would be relegation) but I can't agree that 21st place is an achievement of any kind, let alone a massive one. 21st place will represent a n awful season of uncompetitive football from a squad which has been deliberately under-funded. Absolutely no cause for celebration whatsoever, and precious little cause even for relief. To my mind it raises the possibility of this bizarre scenario; Imagine Charlton need a win on the last day of the season to stay up. A) We don't get the win. A pitch invasion at full time, mass protest chanting against Roland, huge outpouring of anger from fans. B) We get the win. A pitch invasion in celebration, Bowyer and the team mobbed by ecstatic fans, and everybody goes home happy. If the owner was a decent bloke, and it was evident that needing a win on the last day was not his fauilt, I would find that scenario entirely normal. But the owner is a nasty old bastard, and needing a win on the last day will be entirely his fault. And if everybody goes home happy, he is not only off the hook, he has won. In his mind, his strategy will have been proved right. Will that be good for the Club?
