After the welcome news that FIFA are launching an investigation into the nefarious activities of Mohamed Bin Hammam and Jack Warner, they're now investigation Sepp Blatter himself.

    Sepp Blatter under investigation.

    Should have happened years ago.

I'd ****ing love it if he's found guilty. That organisation is corrupt to the core.

Has anyone read the book "Foul!"?
    Very good read <ok>

I haven't read the book, but I've read a few of Andrew Jennings' newspaper articles about FIFA corruption. He's also done a few reports on it for Panorama.

Warner has been long overdue having his collar felt. The amount he ripped off the team when T & T were at the World Cup a few years back was scandalous, but he really considers himself untouchable, as most of the FIFA creeps do. Now there's a power struggle all the skeletons will come tumbling out the cupboard...

If the major footballing nations had the balls, now would be the time to set up a rival football organisation and tell FIFA where to stick their tournaments in far-off lands that no-one wants to visit!

I would like to suggest Not606 set itself up as the new governing body of world football.

Bin Hamman has pulled out. An admission of guilt if there ever was one.

What I don't understand is the recent hatred of Fifa, it's only down to England not getting the World Cup.

They have been corrupt for more than 30 years, with bribes going around all over the place. This is all down to us not getting the World Cup, if we'd got it there'd be no outcry...

    It's not a recent thing <ok>

    Tis true.

The truth is the British government were happy to bow to FIFA's demands such as tax breaks for big companies (including FIFA) and the temporary scrapping of the minimum wage so they were happy to go along with it until they got screwed over.

    It will be a whitewash.

The whole game is filthy, from top to bottom and there are few exceptions.

Hardly. I'm Scottish (or 'Scotch' as Loiner likes to say) and don't give a flying bollock about England's failed World Cup bid. FIFA is a totally corrupt and unaccountable organisation and it's just not on in this day and age.

There have been several fixed games in both La Liga and Serie A this year. We take bets on mad outcomes, we watch the game and watch the hilarious attempt to make it look like the two teams are actually competing, just for the laughable goals and 20 minutes at the end of back passes. We report it to the governing bodies and anti corruption units. They re-watch the obviously bent games themselves - then declare that there is no reason to suspect match fixing and do nothing. It's been the worst year for corruption in a while and nobody wants to stamp it out, even the anti corruption units are in on it.
