It could be the recurring nightmares that he'll obviously suffer after having played for Leeds.

Lets hope he has some good friends and family around him to help him through his troubles.
Suicide accounts for a quarter of all male deaths in the 24-39 age range, which is a shocking figure.
Without going too deeply into it, the rise of social media could make this much, much worse in the years to come.
We take the piss on here, but its the Facebook and Twitter trolling and bullying of teens and younger that will cause the next generation of mental issues.

As some who has had problems with anxiety in the last 18 months my heart goes out to him.

Mental heath doesn't discriminate. Rich, poor, famous, talented it can take us all.

I's really bad news... patently his club haven't picked up on the signs...!!... It just shows that all the riches doesn't guarantee happiness and health. GWS..

poor Aaron, mental health always gets brushed under the carpet.
hopefully fairly high profile cases like this will enable ppl to begin to talk about it.

True patty, start of last year awareness was trying to be raised n the media it seemed, but then seemed to be forgotten about again.
Hopefully this and prince Harry's recent admissions get this problem been talked about again.

In football...Its usually ex pros who fall victim to depression, anxiety and mental illness in general eg the late Dalian Atkinson, Clarke Carlisle and others. But Lennon's still got a couple of good seasons left in him...Just makes you wonder if he's not turning up for training at Everton....but nothing has been said publicly. Hope the fella gets through it..
Am I right in saying he's a good mate of Tom Huddleston?

Seemingly, he was found walking beside a main road. Which footballer last year was it that was found in similar circumstances?. I can't recall if he had been hit by a vehicle or not.

Hopefully one day we can talk about mental health issues in a similar way we talk about physical health issues

The trouble is you can see physical but mental is harder for a non expert to grasp! We still have the slap on the back and pull yourself together mentality I'm afraid!

The 30-year-old was detained under the Mental Health Act by police over concerns for his welfare. ... "Officers attended and a 30-year-old man was detained under section 136 of the Mental Health Act and was taken to hospital for assessment.

So a very short 'detention' leading hopefully to a full assessment & appropriate treatment
