Probably about a little less than a decade ago (when I had spare time) I remember setting up a league in football manager where one team was all clones of Carraghers another team were all clones of Gerrard, etc. I did this for all our first XI. I then let the game simulate a season. I don't remember who finished where... I do recall Team Gerrard won (perhaps not surprisingly) and Team Reina came last... That's about all I remember. It's probably on the old 606 on the internet somewhere... Anyhow my question is. If we did this today. Had a team of clones of each of our first XI (and major subs)... Who do you think would win. In other words, who do you think our most complete player is... The one who if he played in every position would triumph over the others. A midfielder might be the most obvious chance. Keita perhaps... Or maybe Henderson or Milner. But I think Mane or Firmino might do well too both can tackle, pass and run despite being more naturally forward players. I think it's less obvious who our best all round player is now than it was 10 years ago... Or even when Coutinho was at the club. I don't own a FM product from last 5 years or so, so couldn't repeat the experiment even if I had time.
tbh is have to look at the state in fm to actually guess well in general a midfielder is always going to have the all round stats. tackling passing pace shooting.
No one going for Keita then... Too early to judge him? He seems to have good all round abilities... A bit like a modern day Gerrard I could see him in almost any position. I see Keita doing better as a forward than Firmino as a defender. Those two, Henderson and Milner... Maybe even Wiji seem to be the most rounded players.
too short. in general if his stats are right then he would do well. his shooting in Germany was good and his tacking should be good too. as I said in general is back.midfielders all day. Milner would imo be rated as dead slow in fm though
Too early for him to have top quality starts on FM. VVD would be good in a 'Mourinho tactics' set-up TAA and Milner would be good all round too. Salah and Mane teams would be ****.
Did your team of Carraghers lose every game on OGs? A team of VvD would boss. He can play and has a tasty shot on him.
